You have no idea man. When I first started 3 years ago I had to force myself to go 3 days a week. It's taken until late last year to go 5 days, and I enjoy it more than ever. I actually don't feel as good if I don't go.

Oh boy. 20-29 were my best years. If I could put those years on film it would be banned in 103 countries and Mars.
I cycle the black book. Just because I am older does not mean they have to be.

I am not taking breaks until my body tells me to. Chest, squats and some tri's today!!!

EDIT: Kubiak just got extended through 2012. Look out!

Sure did. There's a lot of people who just don't understand why his contract was extended now as opposed to towards the end of next season. Makes sense to me why they did it.

Update on the creatine supplements:

Yesterday at the gym I felt like a monster. I was pushing out the last reps on my 3rd sets like nothing. Usually my muscles give up at the end of my 3rd set and I have to drop weight to complete it, but now I just had extra 'pop' that blew right through that. I also found myself wanting to do an extra set of each work out. Oh boy! And today my energy level is through the roof. I assume this is the creatine as I've heard it provides extra energy in your workouts.

I'm interested to see if my size has increased any by the end of next week. It's inclusive in a mass gainer supplement, so I'm making sure to hit cardio after the weights so that mass goes to the right places. I worked like a SOB to get my stomach as flat as it is and while I want my legs, arms, back, & chest to gain size I want to keep my midsection thin and firm.

I would wait until you're done with the "cycle" to take any measurements. Then again I never do any of that.

Funny you say you feel the 3rd set is the hardest. My first set is almost always the most difficult and 3rd the easiest. Just depends on the day though.

1st set is usually so-so as I start with slightly less weight so I can make sure my form is in line. 2nd set is always the easiest and I add a few pounds while focusing on keeping good form. 3rd/4th (last) set is always difficult because my muscles tend to give out on me. If I can't finish my last set I'll drop weight and pump out the last few reps.

Have enjoyed this creatine addition because it's helped me have the extra oomph to power through those last few reps on the last set.

I think as long as you stay at the same weight, but reduce the gravity, you should be able to gain some mass.

So update: I've only put on 3 lbs, up to 178, but I think I've leaned out a bit in the stomach and added mass in the arms/upper back. Diet is crucial, and I haven't been doing well at keeping myself full throughout the day or even eating much at all. Agh! What I need to do is keep a box of protein bars in my trunk so I can eat one between meals. I think the only thing limiting my size now is the amount I eat.

I'm surprised you can eat those protein bars, I've tried different ones and they all taste so awful >_<!!!

I've began to experiment with a creatine called Purple K and I definately feel like a beast. I've been able to up my weights and can push those last few reps out a lot better than before.

its funny, this country is so obsessed about giving people ways to eat less.

i need ways to eat more. it's hard to constantly be stuffing my face 24/7...both on the wallet and my gastrointestinal system i'm like hovering at 142-145 lb, can't seem to break 150.

true mass weight gainer supplement gives me the shits and gas pretty bad...also gives me bloating pretty bad too.

It's harder and easier than it sounds at the same time. If you want to gain weight, you're not going to gain it from nothing. You have to eat more!

But you have to eat more fruits/vegetables and less of that fatty stuff.

I found that when I was bulking, I was living in the dorms for my college career. Since they had a buffet style, all you can eat, rotating menu every week, I could really eat my fill of anything I wanted.

I really stocked up around the salad bar.
I ate lots of corn, spinach, peas, watermelon, pineapple, stuff like that.

I really used it to my advantage, and made sure to make the best of the meats that were offered; staying away from pizza, fried chicken, and things like that.

They would often have dark-meat chicken, and I know it's not the best for staying lean and gaining mass, but if you're really working out as hard as you THINK you're working out, it should be fine. I ate it a lot whenever they had it, and was happy with my results.

Fuck those mass gainers, it's mostly sugar.

Make your own mass gainer
milk (which ever you like)
2 scoops of whey protein
1 bannana
1 tablesoon of Peanut butter
1 teaspoon of olive oil

that's only about 500-600 calories with nonfat milk where as true mass is close to 900 with nonfat milk.

but yeah, true mass has a shitload of sugar (14g for a 3 scoop serving).

kudos to you, but fruits and veggies are low on calories. usually, to gain mass, you have to increase your caloric intake to about 2400-3000 calories a day, and that doesn't come from fruits and vegetables.

i basically eat whatever the hell i want and how much of it i want, and i don't gain weight. i'm not sure your strategy would work for me. i mean, i don't eat junkfood all day, but i will have a burrito, steak, pizza relatively often.

Sugar is where most of those extra calories are comming from.

As far as the protein bars go, try the Power Bars Harvest. They have whole grain oats and remind me more of a chewy granola bar than a protein bar. They're by the the most delicious I've tasted, and something I can snack on an actually enjoy instead of choking down. Strawberry Crunch is my fav.

Creatine is great for getting out those extra reps. I love it.
