The first batch of margaritas for the season is always special. Delicious. It's a warm Friday night, we just got back from a great steak dinner, and the 'ritas are superb. God, I love Fridays.

Funny thing you started this thread! I've been trying to perfect my Margarita recipe this week. 3:2:1 ratio

2/3 ounce fresh, squeezed lime juice
2 ounces Patron Silver
1 1/3 ounce Cointreau

Shake well with ice & serve in a salted (kosher salt) rim glass.

AZ isn't my cup of tea. I do love that highway between here and Vegas though. Straight desert driving.

Yea it was fun while it lasted but I'm glad to be out of there. The roads there are too good...I got a ticket doing 120 heading to Coachella in my roommates A4 a few years ago at 2am...that could've been bad

You dont realize it on those desert roads at night till you hit the limiter....

They didn't arrest you? Here you would have gone to jail and lost your license for months. That's what worries me the most. I only haul ass when I can see for miles that it's clear, but I still have nightmares about getting nailed at triple digit speeds.

No, I was so scared when they were talking to me though. I was driving my roommates car, he was sitting shotgun and our friend was in the back. We had just stopped to get gas and they bought a case of beer and each shotgunned one in the parking lot, luckily no one had any open containers when I got pulled over. They treated it totally seriously and had me get out of the car, etc. but once they realized I wasn't drunk or drinking let me off with an 84 in a 70

Sweet. You lucked out. The fact that the PSL was 70 probably helped. I think Utah had some 75 MPH spots if I remember correctly. Wish they'd up the limit to 70 here. It's 70 in all the surrounding states.

Yea AZ is actually 75...but CA is 70. After the break I got I just paid the fine and walked away dodging a bullet... That was the one cop I've encountered who was actually cool about stuff once he knew I wasn't drunk or on drugs...in my other experiences it seems like once the cop pulls you over for suspected DUI and can't charge you with it they will charge you with everything they possibly can...

I've found the best mixer is MinuteMaid Lime. I mix it with 3 semi-full cans of water (directions call for 4-1/3). That makes a strong lime mixture. Then it's tequila and triple sec (or Cointreau) over ice and add the mix. Don't like the salted rim personally, but that's up to the individual. Oh yeah, and a squeezed lime section.

I got nailed yesterday dead to rights "passing" someone making a right turn. There was a double yellow line and painted stripes on the other side because of a left-turn lane from the opposite direction. I simply went around the guy making the right, but the cop behind me in the unmarked just saw me crossing the double yellow into the striped area. He pulled me over and gave me a lecture, but let me go with a warning. He was an older guy. The county sheriff, actually. He was cool about the whole thing. He could have made my life miserable because I just got nailed speeding a week ago and two tickets in a month would have really screwed me.

Exactly. The directions call for 4-1/3 of the empty MM cans of water. Just use ~<3 cans.
