After the refridgerator experience, I replaced the washer and toilet supplies with those nice heavy duty braided lines. I'm not sure why builders don't put floor drains under appliances. You would never see them and at least the water would have someplace to go. |

That just requires some polish and a 30 second wipe down. Cleaning paint with whatever seems to strip the shine away no matter what you use and eventually just builds a thin grim that's near impossible to get off. If you don't do a lot of cooking and don't have youngins running around then yours won't be so bad.

Looks great. Years back while I was still in high school my parents did a huge remodel in their house. Their floors look really similar to yours.
Great job on the cabinets as well. Looks a lot better than the stained wood look. |

If you put stainless steel appliances in that kitchen it would look a lot more high end. The white appliances with white cabinets is a bit too much of the same color IMO.
Also, if it were my place I would get an LCD or plasma and wall mount it and swap the sofas for something a bit more contemporary.... not too modern, but those sofas are a bit dated. A piece of art or a nice mirror above the 3 person sofa would be good too. That said you did a great job on the place... as I said earlier in this thread. I just thought you might like some constructive criticism from a design dork.

As far as the sofas...they are waaaaay comfortable and look great in the room. I'm not a big fan of contemporary anyway. Different strokes for different folks and all that... Quote:

I respect anybody who can do that sort of work themselves. I'm impressed.
I am about to do floors in a Condo, and I didn't consider for a second doing it myself!!! Good for you, Jon. |
