Just got a new camera!!!
Just got a Rebel XS as a gift, super excited, I've been thinking about getting into some photography for a while, just wasn't able to justify the cost, and now I can for FREE lol.
What kind of accessories should I get? I already have the SD card and tripod, maybe a case (suggestions)? somebody suggested UV filter and flash diffuser, do I need those? man, uber excited |

chuck the kit lens and buy a better lens...craigslist that bitch! If you're gonna buy the diffuser and spend $30 on a gary fong, save your money and get an external flash (430EX can be had for a little over $100 used) and if you can only buy one thing and on a budget...get the nifty fifty($100), it's almost a must for anyone owning a dslr. UV filter and CP, and maybe ND. Magenta filter for night time photography.
You didn't spend money on the camera, but get ready to spend a lot more money on accessories...they didn't really do you a favor by giving it to you, they set you up to spend more...lol
