US passports last 10 yrs?
damn Canadian ones only last 5years, so do Lebanese ones... I used to renew every 2-3 years due to lack of space but now no one stamps anymore...

May I suggest not going to Sandals? Most of the time (99%) you can stay at a nicer resort and pay for your own incidentals and still save money over a sandals package. Plus you avoid all of the screaming kids. Unless it's one of the couples only Sandals resorts it will be full of families.
I am also SHOCKED that 73% of Americans don't have passports. I'm out of the country at least twice a year. There's a big planet out there... go see it. Also, look into other destinations. You can go to safer islands that are much prettier for less money as well. I've been ALL OVER the Caribbean and I am pleasantly surprised to say that Turks & Caicos was my favorite by a long shot. I went the week of Thanksgiving last year and it was nice and quiet. They use the US Dollar, speak English, and it's a 3 hour flight from JFK. Just a very easy vacation to go on and it's a safe island so we were able to walk around to any restaurant we wanted (not trapped on some resort). Just food for thought.

Dont be shocked, Iam only 19 and my wife is 19 lol. Sandals seems like the most fun, the money is not the killer but it just seems so much more fun to pay one bill and everything is free. Drinks ( alcohol ) soda, food, golf etc etc.

So does that mean you weren't allowed to drink at your wedding party!?
I give you a ton of credit for getting married at such a young age, and wish you the best of luck! I am going to second the recommendation on TnC. Enjoy your trip, wherever you end up! |

My first couple of trips were to all inclusive resorts for the same reasons you mentioned but after having 10 "alcoholic" drinks and no buzz, I quickly found out why they were including it free of charge. I would rather pay $5/drink and get a buzz going than pay a premium for an AA sponsorship.

Aside from that I wouldn't say not to do it. But I also have no other experience to go on. For a first trip though all inclusive is a good way to get your feet wet.

You can find a much nicer resort in a better part of the island. I stayed at a Wyndham resort for much cheaper and the all inclusive deals were great. Food was excellent, rooms were unbelievable, and all the "stuff" was fun on the resort!

Royal Caribbean cruise FTW. We take a cruise every year. We're going next month. 7 days leaving San Juan for $1200 for us both. That's food, room...everything but alcohol. Plus, we wake up everyday in a different country. There is no better deal.

I'd recommend Ochos Rios or Negril both are much nice than Montego Bay. You just need to take a shuttle a little bit farther but it's worth it. Ochos Rios is the farthest, Negril has a Margaritaville right on the beach plus Ric's Cafe which is great.

We like to party " but dont wanna get to crazy" iam kind of a 30yo in a 19yo body so i would consider myself much smarter then some of those idiotic people that go on trips and go hiking in the wilderness for hours with chicho! .
I wanna go somewhere with a nice nightlife and enough things to do in the daytime so i wont get bored after 2 days ( witch i doubt) but its something that scares me lol. I didnt book my trip yet because my dad told me to go to bahamas. You would need 2 weeks to get bored their he said. NYC- It was a tough decision but in our heritage your a loser if your not married by 20 ( in so many words lol) plus it wasnt spontaneous we were going out for over 3 years before we got married.

If you plan on going anywhere in Jamaica, it will not be at night. Most resorts will tell you this up front! You do not want to be running around at night! You have to remember that it's a third world country with tons of poverty. Many of the villages have never been rebuilt and the only nice thing around are the resorts. There is a ton of crime outside of the resorts and anyone will tell you that
