Future of Dashboards idea
Read this article
http://www.insideline.com/jaguar/a-d...he-future.html which got me thinking about how awesome this would be if, say, tuners got a hold of this, and could FULLY integrate map switching/boost display/IATs/EGTs etc. etc. all into a classy screen! I mean imagine your dashboard being customized to display gauges for exactly EVERYTHING you want. No more tricking the OIL temp gauge to be a boost gauge, imagine fully integrated and BMW OE looking gauges all digital and all on your dash! I really hope in 2-3 years tuners start embracing this technology, I think it would be really cool to have a different "mode" in which a 1/4 mile timer could pop up along with all of the vital gauges relevant... sorry for the rant...just got really excited about technology...

Doesn't the GTR have this kind of display, it is not actually physical gauges it is an LCD virtual display that changes depending on what you are doing.
My only Concern is Microsoft may attempt to take over your car, they are already trying to do it with FORD and their cars. |

it looks more like a video game than a dashboard

^ they did say they got inspired by video games as well. I'll reserve judgement till I see/interact with it in person. I'm optimistic about this though.

The LFA has a mix of 3 digital gauges. There is the big circular one in the middle that moves side to side, and then the two screens on the side. So it still has a physical piece to it's gauges. The Jaguar in the link had nothing in the gauge pod except for a screen, almost as if they took the nav screen and just stuck it in there.

but i'll always like real gauges more than virtual ones. it's more classy, just like digital watches are not stylish and old-ass analog ones are.

I like it, besides having exactly what you want to be displayed, you can also change themes as often as you like.
