A quote from Bill on 11/18/2010:

Quote:
Things are going well. The rebuild should be completed in a few weeks. We replaced:

- Cylinder head with new valves and springs
- All 12 cylinder sleeves
- All 12 piston
- Lifters
- Crank bearings

The cams, crank and connecting rods look good. We did an ultrasonic clean of all parts including the block, oil pan and oil pump. I'll have more detail after my next visit.
And this was the response to someone asking if Ferrari is helping in the rebuild:

Quote:
We did but didn't get too far with the dealer and Ferrari of North America (FNA). FNA says the original Enzo warranty is only 1 year and they wouldn't even help their best customers (which is not me) 7 years later. I'm disappointed and would expect more from FNA, especially with their flagship car and the engine failing without abuse (and proper maintenance) with only 4K miles. They didn't even care why it failed and didn't come to inspect it. That doesn't seem right for Ferrari.
Bill hasn't posted since early December, so I'm not sure if it's complete or not.

Ferrari doesn't give a shit about it's customers, only their racing.

Not true - Ferrari of Central Florida paid for some issues a friend's F430 had that wasn't even the dealer's fault (a couple grand worth). Still, the only reason Enzo built production cars was to fund his racing efforts

Wow, thats just pathetic. When IL's GT-R tranny leaked a bit of oil around a seal Nissan replaced the entire transaxle and shipped the faulty one (that had never actually broken) back to Japan for a thorough strip-down and investigation. I can't believe Ferrari isn't at least curious as to why the engine blew....

I think it's a 997 , I could see the reflector under the headlight. The 997.2 have the leds under the nheadligght now.

I think you're right. I was looking at it on a tiny netbook but now see it on my laptop
