guys watch the video of the c200k vs sl55 vs dtm vs f1..
the f1 laps in 90s, +66s on the c200k
its not even twice as fast as the c200k!!!
how can the overlap video be correct? the speed difference in it is many times faster -unless those other cars are just cruising, and really taking it easy .. they would have to be going at less than half the speed of the c200k to make that video accurate!
am i missing something?

i know f1 cars are fast, but they aren't physics defying spaceships

Just think that a F1 car does about 185 mph through Eau Rouge.

It's due to downforce. The primary speed differential between a GT car and a Formula 1 car is due to difference in downforce, so it's in the high speed stuff that you see a real difference. My guess is that the GT cars are taking Eau Rouge at 90-100 mph, while F1 cars can take it full throttle (180-190 mph).

Here's an onboard lap of the same track. Starts at 0:15. What really amazes me is that he breaks from 200 to 50 in just 300 feet! Ridiculous

and here's an M3 doing a lap, onboard. For comparison

Ok after watching your video of them taking that section at 300kmh+ i eat my words.. i thought the track there couldnt take those speeds
those other cars must be crawling around 100-130kmh in that video! ..

but i would add that section is not respresentative of the whole track, as you note the F1 cars really seem to excel there with their downforce. a flat corner the F1 cars wouldnt look nearly as good

F1 cars will destroy any car in a turn. When Champ Car was going to Montreal they were on average 8 to 10 seconds slower a lap then F1 and Nascar! (WOO Doggy) was almost 45 seconds slower a lap.
