First BMWActivatethefuture Episode Online: The New City
![]() BMWActivatethefuture Episode: The New City BMWActivatethefuture.com's first episode has come online. Called "The New City," the feature takes a look into how the shift of the global population towards ever bigger cities will impact and necessitate mobility and transportation habits and changes - in BMW's words "How the way we live will impact the way we move." The video prominently features CEOs and opinion makers in vital sectors of society giving their two cents on where the future may go, and it doesn't necessarily involve cars as we know them. Its worth the watch, and in interesting look into what the rest of the series has in store for us. Without further ado, you can watch EPISODE 1 on the official BMW Activate the Future website: http://www.bmwactivatethefuture.com/newcity.php or watch the embedded video below

Everytime the girls talks a really ugly city ladybug like vehicle appears
![]() Evolution will be necessary obivously, but i don't like the idea of us all living together in small spaces driving little cute and round "buzzy" electric cars. I'll take the less efficient outskirts thx ![]() |

reminds of the videos from the 50s and 60s saying "we'll all have flying cars by the year 2000!" yawn...

Yawn...
I want my 6 minutes back. They posed questions and options answered in every sci-fi movie of the 20th and 21st century. Can anyone say cars from Minority Report? Transportation within cities needs to change. It makes no sense having a city full of taxis, all with 1 person in each of them. It just doesn't make any sense. Parking also needs to be changed - but we're talking about multi-billion or trillion dollar projects in a time where people are scrutinizing every tax penny. It addresses the city question - but unlike what the google woman says - I beg to differ - I find it quite enjoyable to get in my car and commute to work. I live 25 miles from my job, and I wouldn't change my commute 1 bit. I get to enjoy my car, my music, and the joy of driving. I'm sure I'm not alone there. |
