Another mattress purchase question.

I'm about to purchase a new mattress and I'm in a toss up between the Sealy Latex or Sleep Number. Which one would you guys go with?

Please... tell me you laid on both mattresses already. Since I am going to assume you have, I would say go with whichever one you found more comfortable.

But you are asking OT for help. Which means you haven't lied on either bed.

I have hoss. But it doesn't hurt to ask if anyone here has owned them where they can provide more of a longterm review.

Hey, people return used toilets to Home Depot - why not try and see if anyone bites? There's a sucker born every minute.

My friend has the Sealy Latex mattress. He loves it, but his wife thinks it's too firm. I'd say if you plan to have partner that might not share the same mattress preference, go with the Sleep Number. If it's just gonna be you for a while, get whichever one you prefer.

You just have to take it for a test ride and see what works...

Don't get a sleep number, it's garbage. I have a king size and have had mine for several years now and two of the mattresses developed leaks and customer service gave me a horrendous time getting it replaced under warranty.

Ugh! I have a sleep number. I have to keep flipping the damn thing over trying to pin point where it's leaking and retighten the seal. Done that a few times and just gave up.

I got the Heavenly Bed that the Westin Hotels have. I actually bought it at Nordtrom's. http://shop.nordstrom.com/c/westin-h...e-heavenly-bed

For me, it's the perfect combination of firmness and being comfortable. I love it and really miss my bed when I'm not at home.

I have been looking also for a new mattress. It's like wine, you have to find the right one that you like. I've been nervous because they don't offer a "test-drive" on mattresses. The same goes for dress shoes...sure they feel ok at the store in the chair, but try walking on them for hours. It's a crap-shoot!

def avoid pillow tops. wife and I loved it at the store. loved it a few months later. well now we are about 3 years with it and are aggravated with it. it wears unevenly, the pillow top doesn't hold up well. you can't flip the bed, only rotate it.

gonna spend some serious time looking into memory foam and latex beds next time around.
