M sport on every model?

Why is BMW making an m sport package for every model? The 1,3,5,6,7,x1,x3 and x5 all have m sport packages. Will this benefit BMW M?

Don't get me wrong. I love the m sport models. I'm just wondering if BMW will offer this all the time and not discontinue it on the next generation.

The M Sports come after the LCIs to boost sales of aging models, just like Porsche has all their special editions at the end of the life cycle.

Yes and so did the x3 and 7series. So that theory is out the window.

It makes them money. The M symbol isn't about performance anymore. It's about money.

It seems M is trending that way. Soon we'll be like Mercedes who slaps an AMG badge on the back of everything that leaves the factory.
