That's not my intention. I'd like to know which software to buy because every website says a different thing as to who makes the best software for viruses.

from my experience in IT, every single one of them is garbage, so we just started installing Microsoft Security Essentials, which is free. This way we don't waste ridiculous amounts of money on garbage software that is guaranteed to fail. It's takes us about 10 minutes to re-image a windows desktop in case of a serious virus

1-2 years ago I would not have agreed.

Anymore I do agree though. AVG was awesome for the longest time, but I've been getting more and more complaints about issues that the software causes on people's machines.

Yep, it was all right, even the free version. Now it became another useless anti-virus app that brings even the most powerful desktop to its knees while it scans. Plus the free version is now a nagware.

I started installing Microsoft Security Essentials on my clients machines too. They don't want to pay for an anti-virus subscription, because they are cheap, but MSE has been working pretty damn good so far.

Anti-viruses LAG the PC as fuck, just keep your important file on an external hard drive, whenever a virus hits your PC, format the hell out of it.

+1 been using kaspersky for maybe 2 years. havent had any problems with it. buy the license off of ebay. u can get a 3 pc license for about 24 bucks compared to 60 to 70 bucks at stores. also, if u go to their website and download the trial type a random email with random characters and a random domain and it would work. i do that every time i reformat and use it for a month.
