Anyone go from Nikon D90->D7000
I have a D90 and love this camera, but I'm thinking of moving to the D7000. Anyone else made the move?

Since I have a D90 (and see the D7000 as its replacement), can I ask what features it has that make you feel the need to switch?
Just curious...

I've had my D90 for the past 2 years now. Once it dies out, I'll be upgrading to a Full Frame body.
I don't see enough in the D7000 for me to make the switch. |

the 7000 isn't full frame, so no point in you looking at it as you said you want to make the switch to FF
wait a little longer, and the next version of the D700 shouldn't be too far off as canon is coming out with an updated camera to replace the 5DmkII, so Nikon will have to retaliate with something fresh. That being said, the D7000 is supposed to be pretty incredible from what i've heard and read, but it's a crop body. Would pprobably make for a good back up camera to a FF or for more sport related stuff. |

OP, if you're looking to do video, i think it's video capabilities are supposed to be pretty strong, but there's not much wrong with the D90

Yes the video is much improved on the D7000, but I'm not a big video person.

i had the D90 and upgrade to the D7000.
the hold and feel is about the same. the D7000 does have some new nice features, duo slots 1080p shoots faster 6fps weather sealed To me, the D90 is like the 2008 335 and the D7000 as the 2011 335. Same body type with some newer bells/whistle.

currently in a d5000, thinking about getting a d7000 as well...
mostly recreational/hobby shooting for me. Family (have a 2.5 yr old that's getting faster by the day ) , friends, parties/gatherings, trips, etc... I usually just shoot with an 18-200 nikkor, not sure if I should just invest in glass or a new body. hmmmm, decisions decisions...

I have the 18-200 too. Was good on the 5000 and great on the 7000! - The 7000 offers a lot easier and quicker control over iso etc. All on dials.

If you are currently using a D5000, the D7000 will blow it out of the park. If you got the D90, not enough to justify the immediate switch.

d5000 and below it's a "good" upgrade, D90 = no need, especially if you don't want/need the video function...
