Which translates from German to Systems, Applications, and Products for Data Processing. SAP wisely decided that was a bit of a mouthful for anyone to swallow, particularly a non-German speaking audience, and it was shortened to SAP.

It's an ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) System. Glorified accounting package :smile:
