It's pronounced "woo-stuh-sher" but it's spelled W-O-R-C-E-S-T-E-R-S-H-I-R-E, so more like "whor-ses-ter-shire."

Boston Accent: woos-tuh
Could always pick out the out of towners on the Cape when you'd hear them talking about Chatham. Yeah, I get that it looks like it should be pronounced "Cha-Th-Ham" but it's "chadum." Now go fuck right off back to wherever you came from. And take the tunnel back will ya.

We do stuff like that in Texas too. Examples:

Manor is may-nore
Manchaca is Man-shack
Burnett is Burn-it
Gruene is Green
Boerne is Burny

I was the older brother. I don't know what set me off, but I chased the younger 3 houses down and came to, beating the living shit out of him on the neighbor's porch. Last time I laid hands on anyone in anger, still scares me what lives inside.

Agreed. I flipped out on a guy during a fight in high school. I wasn't even mad when we started fighting, that changed quickly. The fight culminated with me forcing his face to make friends with a nearby tree. I still felt really bad when I saw what I did to him after. All over some girl that I didn't even really care about. The stupid things we do as kids.

Same here, I once put my brother head first into a corner of a cabinet. I think I had soaked up two towels with blood before my mom found us with me trying to keep it on the "down-low".

He got about 30 stitches in his scalp, and I got the A$$ whooping of a lifetime from my dad!

^ I'm not certain that my parents even found out, although I think the neighbor told them a few days later. Body blows don't show up as readily as gushing head wounds.

Ouch. I've gone pretty crazy on my younger brother (who can kick my butt anytime - lot bigger than me) and my dad had to step in and separate us because it was not going to end well for either of us, but that was once and never again.

But when I was younger (like 10) I was pretty ticked off that that he (about 4 years old) would climb up to the breadbox while I was at school and eat all the candy I was hoarding up there. So one day I put a pocketknife in there, don't remember if I helpfully left the blade open or not, and sure enough, he cut himself with it by accident.

Plan worked alright - suddenly the parents had a vested interest in preventing him from climbing up there anymore because they didn't know what I had left there. Previously, they thought him scarfing my candy was pretty funny. I never got in trouble either, because how could you blame me - I didn't cut him. And he shouldn't have been up there. My parents still talk about this from time to time - its a funny story now.

So, I really had to think about this. I am in my early 40's and I don't think I have every really been in a 'fight'.

There have been a few minor events where words started or where there was a single punch, but never a full on brawl.

This does not count active military engagements, mind you, but still - I guess that is a good thing, eh?
