I will be traveling from AZ to New Mexico and to Texas. Can I have experts or show me where I can find the answer to legally carrying my handgun and AR rifle when going to NM and TX.

Just read each states transportation laws for firearms in a car and their reciprocity for concealed carry.

You can travel via interstate with your fireman even in cities with bans on said firearms so long as they are stowed properly.

Getting my ducks in a row to build my first AR-15. Yesterday I ordered a matched 7075 billet receiver set w/o forward assist from Ascend Armory. Planning on a high-end build with Ti BCG, carbon barrel, etc..

It seems that the ejection hole for the empty cartridges are located onto the left side... Are you mainly left-handed or is this pic only an example?
Had shot such a rifle once, the ejected hot cartride pulges out, hit first my left arm (Im right-handed) and bounces back then on my left cheek. Had a nice souvenir of the session, bummer

The ejection port is on the right side. The lack of a grip is probably throwing you off but that receiver is sitting left side down in that pic. Here's another.

Yeah I've had similar, when cartridge comes to rest on back of neck trapped by my shirt while shooting from a rest. Bit hot.

Gonna be nice, what trigger are you going with? I have done some Timneys and a couple of Geisseles. Both are really good, I like how the Timneys install, they just drop in.

Thanks.
I don't have personal experience with either but their reputation precedes them. I'm going to try some different triggers so I can form my own opinion before buying.

Have an opinion on Hiperfire? Their ECLipse trigger is on my "want to learn more about" list.

I don't, I have been paying less attention to the AR world in the last 3 years or so, and there are so many companies making (or re-branding) AR stuff now that I can't keep up.

When I was doing my research and building ARs Timney and Geissele were the best out there. Back then Timney was the best single stage and Geissele was the best 2 stage. Now both of them make single and two stage. I like the single stage, but you do need to train on it. My craziest trigger is a Geissele "Super 3 Gun" its badass, crisp, reset is almost non-existent, but the safety MUST be on if you are not on target (it probably should be anyway).

We use post it notes to help me see if I hit the target rather than pulling the target back in after each shot. (I need to change target colors. Black is too hard to see the hole from that distance)

That's EXACTLY what my instructor says. I dont go farther than 3.5 feet right now. I stick around 3.0 to 3.5 If an attacker is any further, do I really need to shoot? Until I get better in my grouping I stick in the 3 yard range.

This one I wasnt aiming for the post it note, but it helped me to see how much lower I needed to be. I hope to improve my grouping. I shoot with my glock 26
