Since the cost cap, pretty much every team has the same amount of money, the same resources.

(RB is waiting endlessly on new permits of local government to build their new tunnel...)
So it really is the result of having a better team, a better driver and engineers that are smarter.
Not the result of having more money and better gadgets/resources. And it's not like Mclaren has an underpowered engine; the mercedes engine is one of the best (only the alpine engine is an underperformer, the rest ps pretty much equal)
And of course RB has less development time in both the wind tunnel as in cfd simulations because they won last year.
So taking all this into account, and that RB can win like they did....then they very well deserved it!

We see such gaps in Marathon races. In F1, everyone expect close competition at the top to make it more interesting and watchable.

During the final stages of the Bahrain race and especially during the cooldown lap after the chequered flag, Tsunoda managed to disqualify himself to ever get a Red Bull Racing, Mercedes-AMG or Ferrari F1 seat.

Years ago the chap entered F1 with anger management issues and, despite counseling sessions, never truly managed to get his demons out of his system or under control. He's fast but demonstrates with antics like these that he's unfit for the job.

That was a very great race from Max. He pulled away with such a gap in the first ten laps and then just cruised. Watching the onboard, you could tell he was not pushing the car much at all with such a big lead. I imagine if he was on it the entire race, he'd have lapped the entire field rather than just half of it. Great race from Checo too - loved his new level of aggressiveness and hope he keeps it up.

So just found out no one from Ferrari went to parc ferme to congratulate Sainz after securing 3rd place. Really just another incident that validates how screwed up Ferrari is.

I'm not at all totally surprised and has reverberations from the 50's and 60's when it was prevalent at Ferrari with the one driver chosen by the commendatore who was expected to do well.

Sainz refused all his collaboration in the further development of the SF24...
Because he will be replaced by LEW in 2025.

If it's not the electrics (MagnettiMarelli) then it's the brembo brake set up that is lightened and modified to within an inch of its life that plays up

Unconnected. I'll be changing my brake pad set up soon (when warmer) in my M as I'm sick and tired for years putting up with the standard ridiculously black dusty pads nearly worn down and after just one trip the wheels are covered in black soot !
They won't be Brembo though but TRW instead.

Checo looked great. He was always pretty aggressive, but it was usually poorly timed so he ended up with incidents. At least in this one race, he seemed to have better timing. Hoping to see that keep up for him.

Once he got to 2nd, he just put on cruise control. You could tell he was just watching Sainz' speed and matching it, making sure not to wear out his soft tires too soon, but also not let Sainz catch up.


Overall though, that was a pretty boring race, even in the mid-field. I still don't know how max fans get excited to watch races...
