Ok, nerd time ...
In my Engineering school, we would have a calculator speed competition between the TI brand and the HP/RPN brand where each person had to perform a fairly complex equation. Needless to say, HP with RPN came out winning every time.

This is my HP 41CV programmable calculator I bought in 1979. Yes, I still have it and use it. I don't remember the price.

When I was in HS, we couldn't use those electrical calculators, especially on tests!

My dad had the predecessor of this calculator when he was in grad school but his was made for statistics.

At university, I had a TI-30 then moved to a TI-55. Yes. Complete nerd.

Yes! 12 meters were used for the cup until 1987.
The pic is in Greenwich, CT a few years back. We were going out to dump some of my big bro's ashes in the Long Island Sound.

"Freedom (12 meter US-30) is a 12-metre class racing yacht and winner of the 1980 America's Cup, defeating the challenging yacht Australia. Freedom was designed with an alloy rather than a wood hull by Olin Stephens and Bill Langan, and constructed at Minneford Yacht Yard. She was skippered in the Cup by Dennis Conner."

I went for a few FCC license exams a few years ago, and the test rules allowed for a basic (non-scientific) calculator or a slide rule. The three-person panel proctoring the test had a combined age older than the USA, and actually had to go verify the test rules because nobody showed up with a slide rule in years. Of course I passed, missing only one question between the two exams.....

When you stand up from your recliner and your back cracks 10 times before you can stand up straight. Oy.

A potus is younger than you are.

A scotus? that's ok!

Forget about ceos....they can be 32-37 and running the largest corporations in the world, so if one is younger than you doesn't mean much...

btw my 15C was $90 brand new. It was on eBay a few years ago in the mid $300's if it had the original box and books....they're like watches and guitars, go up in value over time
