I'm impressed. This custom restomod started as a ratty barn find 1971 R75/5. The engine was completely overhauled with a long list of upgrades and an evenlonger list of custom-made parts for the rest of the bike.
The split tank has the fuel on one side and the new electronics hidden on the other for a real clean look. Gone are the Bing carbs using instead a 3D printed manifolds to a two-barrel Weber carb. |

A franken R9: The bike Yamaha should build. Starting with the 889cc triple mill from a MT-09 as a cornerstone, Panigale forks were used up-front with a Ducati 749 swingarm and Corse Dynamics rear shock linkage. Five-spoke alloy wheels from an Aprilia RSV Mille are used.
The 'gas tank' is a two-piece affair with the fiberglass airbox up front and aluminum reservoir at back with a sight glass. (Every bike should have that) All other body parts are handmade including the tig-welded trellis frame. A super light beauty with 110hp on tap. Last edited by Lady Jane; 01-05-2024 at 08:16 AM.. |

Molarco from Spain based on the Honda CBR954RR Fireblade engine. Noteworthy is the Hossack-like front suspension.

My 1996 Kawasaki ZX11 project, in the middle of my sons bikes, the Honda F4 600 and Kawasaki EX500.
The ZX11 was parked with 16000 kms back in 2001 by the previous owner who stuck it in the back of an outdoor shed, much of the fairings had damaged sections from lawn tools leaning against it and the worst corrosion inside a fuel tank I’ve ever seen. Cleaned the carbs which were full of brown crud, after replacing all the jets plus a tune up and she runs like new. I’ve modded the lower fairings to be a half fairing with custom mounts etc. Still a work in progress visually but it runs and drives like a new bike. Needs a pipe to be nicer to look at since the factory pipe is pretty rusty but for a 25 year old bike it rides very nicely. |

A custom bike purposely designed to look like an old relic including the paint job. The project started with a donor VW Bug engine and a lot of bits and bobs from other bikes in order to achieve the proper look. Only one snag was encountered when it was realized that the final drive was mounted on the wrong side causing the wheel to spin backward.
