anyone else order T-Mobile version with Nov 10-17 date?

Seems like it was a miscalculation on apples part because I just got my derlivery date bumped to November 3. Looks like everyone else who were first to order with the later date got bumped to nov 3 as well. I’m happy.

Checked on Best Buy and they are showing ship date of Dec 15. On Apple's site it is currently unavailable. Wow.

Don't know why anyone is surprised it's sold out. This happens pretty much with every major iphone release.

Last time I bothered with pre-orders was like iphone 5 or 6 maybe. Now I don't really care. If verizon ever offers an even swap deal then I would upgrade (thats what I did to get my iphone 7) otherwise I'll wait.

I'm waiting for the issues to be sorted out before I buy one. It always happens. But $2k in the US might be a slight stretch right now or maybe not. If they can't be produced in enough quantities it will happen. And $2K is nothing for iPhones. You would pass out if you saw the international market. It could be double that or more.

I make way more doing nothing just by holding on to my apple stock than selling a couple of phones for double would make me.

1 for me and 3 as Christmas gifts (mom,dad and younger brother). There was so much hype and reports about limited supply that I wanted to order them right away. I should have them in 2-3 weeks.

As far as Apple stock, I had a substantial position at ~90 a share that I liquidated some time ago. At this price level I would feel more comfortable shorting this stock... Your $3,000 trade would have to be leveraged (options) in order to make some money...

Correct - available to ship in 5-6 weeks, but unavailable for store pickup.

I read somewhere that supposedly they are running low on inventory and all new orders will be delivered after Christmas. Not sure how accurate that is.

Lol, shorting the most profitable company in the world that trades at 14 times 2018 earnings in a market where msft trades at 35 times.

My buy in was $90 before the 7-for-1 split. As far as small investing, I went in on LQMT when rumors flew that the 'next" iPhone would be made of liquid metal. That was YEARS ago. This year my investment finally paid off.

If I had to pick between Apple and Microsoft I would actually pick Microsoft. Microsoft has a lot of growth potential in the cloud/Azure space, and Apple is a one trick pony company at this point. The cell phone market is getting saturated, sales for the iPhone 8 are poor, they have issues in China with the new watch. Their innovation basically stopped at iPhone 6. Will be interesting to see the numbers for X in Q4/Q1.

So you’re agreeing MSFT is still significantly more expensive? Apple stands to benefit the most of any company from tax reform and is moving away from a “one trick” pony to a services company. $262B in cash gives them more like a 14 multiple.

Saying Apple is just a phone company is just a misunderstanding of the company. I am long MSFT too.

Sales are poor because it is being compared to other iPhone launches which there haven't been any before like this where a more premium iPhone is launched at the same time. Unless you compare it to the iPhone SE. Regardless if iPhone X sales exceed expectations, then the stock will do well.
