That's really strange because I had both and the PSS's are better than the stones in wet and dry road conditions .
And the stones are making more road noise and lasting less .
Stones are better under extreme hot tracks days because the PSS are melting .
But for road use the PSS are 100% better .

The RE-71 came out in the summer of 2015, maybe you're confusing them with the RE-11's.

This is at the nationals in San Diego 2015. Even Tirerack/ Grassroots Motorsports dont even bother to include the PSS's against the top tier tires in their tire testings. Pss's can cord prematurely on the track, run slower times, lower g's, get greasy etc.
The top tires for 2015 were Bridgestone RE-71R's/Dunlop Star Specs Z2's/Hankook RS-3's, BFGoodrich Rivals (not in a particular order)

Similar Results in San Diego, Dixie etc. An e92 won the FS class
These guys go through 2 - 4 sets of tires a summer.

More data and Michelin doesn't mind that their tires are usually left out in those tests.
