True, I think I'm just coloured by my real world experience where I've encountered a lot which were pretty much dumb as a post. Not sure if a breed thing, but they were also typically the English labs, while I have an American lab.

Most recent dogs, used to have two (one passed away back in Dec) Caviler King Charles Spaniels... My wife and I called them the blondes of the dog world. Really pretty, really sweet but not too bright!

And my apologies if I unknowingly offended any blonde members!

So the breeder we bought our Schanauzer from sent a couple of pictures out.

Two different sides of the spectrum. Look at the size of the head on the giant schnauzer. Also I honestly had never seen a white one.

Cats love boxes! Actually, in Oscar's world if it's on the floor, it's his. We have the cover to an oversized copy paper box on the floor by the sliding glass doors. It's one of his many beds. I open the blinds and he has his window to the world from his bed. I think I have pictures somewhere.

Haha, that they do. He certainly looks to be enjoying his. In Quinn's world, she seems to think tables and countertops are also fair game and has yet to learn otherwise. I couldn't help but laugh when she tried out the Instant Pot though.

An Unexpected Sad Day...…

So our 12yo Airedale Terrier had suddenly taken a turn for the worse over the course of the last week, pretty much out of no where. She had become extremely weak, unstable and unable to relax. Constantly pacing, circling, and heavily painting. So we took her to the vet and they took an x-ray and found a large mass in her stomach. For the pic the vet was not able to tell if it was cancerous or not, but basically sad that even if we wanted to have them perform surgery on a weak 12yo dog, she may not even make it through the surgery, or have a real quality of life afterward. So the extremely difficult decision was made to put her at ease. The vet said that she seemed ready and passed very quickly. We had an amazing 12 years with her and she will be missed. Less then a year ago we had to put our 14 year old Beagle to sleep as well and now our home feels extremely empty. There will forever be a hole in our hearts, and lives without them.

Our Final Goodbye

PS - My wife would kill me for posting a picture with her looking like this, so don't tell her

+1.

Sorry for your loss....really....now I am "bummed out".

With me, they are part of my family.

I know no matter how hard things get in the "outside" world...I have someone waiting at home for me that acts like he hasn't seen me in years even if I have only been gone for an hour.

Sincere condolences to you and the Missus. Truly one of the most difficult decisions a person can face.
