I think the track changes will help Red Bull overall. I wouldn't be surprised if we see Max/Charles swapping P1/P2 a few times.

Ferrari isn't going to just sit still and let redbull do all the upgrades. Ferrari already has the upper hand in chassis and down force generation as dictated by their clear advantage in the corners, if they up the engine power output as well and improve in all the other areas then redbull is in major trouble.

I'm sure there will be a fight for p1 between max and Charles as the season goes on, but I think after Ferrari unleashes the engine and drops weight then these p1 battles will continue to favor Leclerc. The only advantage redbull had in these current battles is the straight line speed and if that's negated they won't have anything.

It'll be neck and neck with the upgrades and Chas is the more nervous one

True, but Ferrari is starting off with a better car, and they have more wind tunnel time and CFD item permitted, so they have a big advantage right now.

Idk if it was for drs being disabled during the last lap of the race Charles would've over taken max again, and max has been shown to make mistakes when he's emotional and Charles capitalized on many of these instances in the first two races. So we will see.

Merc probably won't be finding that performance for a couple races yet, it might be too late for them.

Of course the W13 is in trouble with porpoising on the straights ..
But Mercedes screwed it completely up with the new E10 fuel.

At least Merc are out of the way hopefully and Max will deal with Lec as best he can. A more pace efficient PU in Ferrari is no good if it's still lagging in the aero.
I'd guess there's more drag on the Ferrari with those strange side pods cancelled out a bit by the power of the perky PU. It should be all square with the weight being lost on the 18.

I don't trust anything marko says, he has been proven blatently wrong time and time again. He also knows nothing about the mercedes power train so again he isn't the number 1 source of information.

Not true, there have been CFD simulations on the ferrari side pod showing its shape actually reduces drag. I know that's an insane proposition seeing how bulky the car is, but the CFD results don't lie.

Also the ferrari isn't lagging behind in terms of aero, it actually far exceeds the redbull in terms of aerodynamics as shown by its clear distinct advantage in the corners, it only lags behind in straight line speed. So if ferrari can crank that engine power up even higher, then that deficet to redbull disappears and all of a sudden redbull won't have any advantage over ferrari.

Also Ferrari is working on weight loss, and floor improvements as well. If they are able to fully solve porpoising then they won't have to run the cuts on the floor and thus will have even more down force to play with.

I dont think we'll see merc being competitive until May at the earliest. There is alot they need to work out.

anyway these two weeks have felt like an eternity. i'm ready for some drama this weekend. charles vs max, and bottas vs russell/hamilton.

If you ask me, if merc do nit bring upgrades within the next 1-2 race with the condition that those upgrades bring measureable performance and reduce porpoising - they are imo done for this year. Because they will be too far behind in the development race and they have to build next years car. So if in the next 2 races we don't see signs of improvement it will be too late. Then they will likely use this year as a development year to learn more about the regulations and just sacrifice it for next year.

Agreed. I actually think it's over for Merc this year already with decent confidence.

IMO not yet, because ferrari and redbull will continue to poach points off of each other and that will buy merc some time to catch up (maybe 2 races more, 4 is really stretching it). If it was just one team dominating then it would be over.
