When I invest in stocks, I have an entry and exit plan....I try and predict, with what plans are in the works, what will happen. I have bought and sold on peak days on every stock I have ever bought....crpyto will be the same strategy.

If you know a correction is on the horizon, you better plan for it. Pick your coins right with minimum risk....if and when it happens....bitcoin, the 800# gorrilla will take the biggest hit. Litecoin and BTC as well.

I'll probably buy $5k of ripple in the next few days. I like to learn the behavior of each stock, crypto, etc before I buy....makes it easier to predict where and when it will move up or down.

Did any of you guys pick up ripple XRP?
I have about $500 in XRP(Ripple), bought it at .23 last week. I got mine through bittrex.com, along with my NEO. Supposed to be some big companies looking into XRP, and it also has one of the quickest transaction times out of all crypto. I will probably throw some more into Ripple this week.

I also have some BTC(got in at 4k, took off risk and riding it risk free), ETH, and LTC.

Taxed as a capital gain or loss just as trading stocks or Forex. But only if you report it when you file.

Ok. I'm signing up on Coinbase but looks like the identity verification is having issues.

Do it on the PC. Phone app sucks at signup. Coinbase purchases and gains will be reported. FYI.

So it looks like the signup issues are also occurring on the desktop site. Had a question as to what the best option is for the wallet, should I go with a thumb drive or in the cloud or with coinbase? I was told they have insurance so it should be safe, unless your account is hacked, which is obvious. Just like with ordinary online banking. I've enabled 2 factor authentication on my email, what else do you recommend?

I signed up but I haven't bought anything on it. Decided the nano S was much safer...plus coinbase crashes with high traffic, so when the prices start going crazy and the system gets overloaded...you cant buy or sell. Last week they just straight up halted trading because of the crazy increase with BTC and Litecoin. No crash...just halted trading. Gay.

Do the Ledger Nano S. No exchange required.

What happens if it breaks do you lose your crypto currency? Or if you lose it. I'm assuming no one else can use it if they steel it but neither can you do they could steel or break it just to be a jerk.

The use case for this would be to put maybe a couple grand on it, wait a few months for it to appreciate, cash it out and then reinvest in stocks and more crypto currency so you never have more than you can afford to lose at any one time on the device.

So the safest approach may be a paper wallet kept in a safe deposit box. Or some words that you memorize that can generate the key.

I'm buying and holding. The use case is that it cant be hacked. You have your private key...not the exchange.

That works too, but if your private key is just written down...not protected by codes...its safe for the most part. Like writing down your password for your email.

From the Ledge nano s description on every site that sells it: "Your accounts are backed up on a recovery sheet. Easy restoration on any Ledger device or compatible wallets (BIP39/BIP44) "
