Finished. Top is lighter than the bottom due to three separate sessions of shading and line work. Happy, but a handful of line issues I've already noticed, can't go back now though. The infinity symbol around the eyeballs I had done 6 years ago and wanted it incorporated instead of covered.

Yup, and there's a W on the other side for my father. Octopus represents Stanley the octopus for Red Wings hockey because they took me to games and got me involved since I was 2.

Cool stuff. Looks really good. I have a few fairly meaningless ones (like the "need to show I'm a badass" type.). And one custom piece with my wife's name that I got over the major objections of the artist. Looks really great.

I grew up in Detroit watching the Wings. "I want Stanley..." Karen Newman. Russian Five. The whole deal. Great time to be a Wings fan. (Well, I obviously didn't grow up IN Detroit, cuz I'm alive and stuff.) lived around Detroit most of my life until about 5 years ago. Which part did you live in?

Lol oh yeah Karen Newman! Grew up in Sterling Heights and lived there most all my life, then lived in the city for a bad period of time in life but got out and back on my feet. Downtown is fun, but everything around it takes some pretty thick skin for a white boy.

I grew up in Brighton. Born in Garden City, but followed the "white flight" (not my term) out to the burbs. I have a niece who lives downtown now, in the new Campus Martius area. They keep trying. If it weren't for all the corruption, maybe they could actually make a go of it.
Anyway, that is a pretty cool piece and a nice nod to the parents. Very cool.

The rink they open up in the winter at CM is pretty cool. There are a lot of things I miss about the area, but the short cold season down here is much nicer, and a lot more to do.
