So the gray tanks are Baymak hot water storage tanks. I'm assuming that the unit above said tanks is an inline/tankless water heater (it looks old) that is feeding two storage tanks; however, the amount copper used in doing this is a bit much. Either the homeowner is a plumber, a good one with a sense of humor and shit ton of copper pipe lying around or; the homeowner was a complete dick to the plumber.
