I don't get it - on the first one it looks like there is a road just behind the target with no backstop. Doesn't seem safe?

I grew up on a ~200 acre ranch/farm but then moved away to school and then worked in big cities (and deployed to foreign countries). At first, I was excited about living the city life and made the most of it (girls, mostly ) but it didn't take long for me to want the freedom of actually owning land again: privacy, not being able hear neighbors arguing or partying, sirens, punks with loud stereos thumping down the street at all hours... etc. And being able to shoot, any time, day or night. So I'm back in the 'sticks' with just enough acreage that I can't see my nearest neighbors (maybe a little in the winter when there's no leaves). At this point in my life, I can't imagine living in a city or suburb. I cringe at the thought. Best of luck. Get out if you can! <3 |

That isn't my picture. That is from the site of the company that makes that particular target. As you can see, the target has never been shot. 1. probable that the target was set there just for the photo and never shot at. 2. that may not even be a public road |

Marriage can be a great thing. When you find a good woman, her interests and priorities become yours as well, as I'm sure you know. Talk her into it. Put those thoughts in... slowly. She just might like it. |

Anyone know of any good high quality traveling gun shows?
I see ads sometimes for ones that happen once a year in my area, but they are never the same show/brand. Gun shows aren't exactly as heavily advertised as like a MotorTrend Auto Show. Does anyone know any big names I should google and look into? |

Nope I am not/was not a LEO. The process was very straightforward. Complete the application, find an open schedule, turn in all required information. In parallel of waiting for appointment then you complete class and firing range training. Once your turn in your paperwork and range certification at the police station you get your CCW right away. An appointment for the last piece was not required.

Got around to installing a National Match unitized gas cylinder in my M1A today. Should tighten up groups nicely. Don't know if I'll be able to get to the range this weekend but I'm going to try sneak in 2 hours to sling some 168gn FGMM down range.

Bought one for my 43rd birthday. Made the mistake of going to visit my sister and her newborn (they live close to the store). She ended up taking it to use as her gun. It was cheap and she needed something so I didn't mind.
I never bought another one. I've shot my coworker's 43 a few times. It's nice but I've since shot the 43X and like it better. I'll probably get a 43X one of these days. |

Thinking of getting one for a CCW. Also thinking about getting a Taran +2 mag for better grip.

Yes. Pearce +1 grip also. Also like the Talon sticker grips. It shoots better with 147 vs 115.

For me its not a problem. The odds are almost zero you will have to use the firearm as a weapon and double zero that you would need to change out a mag . Its hard to even "imagine" that scenario. With some practice you can change out pretty quick though.; |
