Well usually throughout the day, ur wrist will expand slowly until the later of the day or the weather get hot.
SS Bracelet (on high end watch mostly) has a spring release that add 1/4" length into the band so u can use that when it gets tight on ur wrist at the end of the day.

I used to wear SS Bracelet because i think skinny guy like me has too small of a wrist to wear leather band, now that i owed a Hamilton Jazzmaster Auto Chrono. I switched out the SS Bracelet to a leather band on and it is MUCH better fitting and look way better too.

The newer Rolexes have bracelets with a short extension to account for wrists puffing up.

Rolex has easylink and the glidelock, both are pretty neat. My Breitling diver pro II has a glidelock style adjustment in the deployment, but I always forget to use it.

I was going to say tutor watches do that too, but you guys in the states don't really get those (if you're unfamiliar with tutor, they are owned by Rolex, use Rolex materials and craftsmanship in the bracelets, but use outsourced internals.

Lol, yes it is, my iPad and its spell checker sometimes defeat me.... Must not use it when tired. Lesson learned.

That B01 is a nice looking watch on the wrist. Congrats on the purchase!

Am i the only one to think that the chronograph feature of a watch is one of the most useless feature ever created?

I have chrono on some of my larger face watches because it looks boring without it. Not a useful feature besides aesthetics for me.

It pretty much has no use these days. Just like a tourbillon, or a minute repeater. Even a calendar watch is useless. For that matter, so are mechanical watches. Second hands have no real use. On manufacturer even want so far as to call the minute hand useless. It is a very unique watch. If curious check out Meistersinger. One of these were going to end up in my collection recently, and then I saw one on my dads wrist. I was so disappointed.

But none of that is really the point of watches. the point is, There is a taste for everyone, so they make watches for everyone.

I agree, about half my collection has chronographs, just because the non chrono version is so boring.

If you find a chrono that is a truly unique design it can completely change a watch for the better.

Unfortunately the trend with watches at the moment is to keep getting bigger and bigger, and that leaves more unused space. So fill it with something interesting.

To me, the point of a mechanical watch is to marvel at the complications. If there's no chronograph, then there's a complication missing and the watch isn't as interesting.

A wrist watch is pretty useless to start with. I have the time on my phone, car, computer, stove, microwave, alarm clock etc. At this point it's really more jewelry than anything else. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

What do they said?
Watches are diamond to men right? Haha
I have 2 Chronograph watch and one even has Tachymeter? Not that I ever gonna used it, but on a big watch, it gives the watch the unique of it.
I think the most useful thing about the watch is the date (beside the obvious time of course), I find myself use that a lot since it so much quicker to look rather than pull out my phone.
Then again, I do owe a couple Movado. I love the classic simple of it.

Why do you think a tachymeter is useless? How do you know if your car's speedometer or odometer are off?

Come on, moon phase, who wouldn't use that?! Oh yeah.

I also really don't get power reserve indicators on automatics.

Even worse -- consumer GPS variance (particularly with the poor in-car reception) is imprecise. Extremely difficult to use the nav system or handheld to clock out a measured mile.

lol..... am and pm indicator..... I guess just in case you don't have a window.

the power reserve is great when you don't wear your watch for a day, something is different for the first few hours you put it back on, and then it gets to full and is unmoving again. but yes, useless feature..... great on a manual wind, would keep people from over winding their watches.

So basically at this point, we've narrowed down everything to basically 1 useful complication. Date window, which can still be found on a cell phone front screen most times.

Lume is also usefull, but not necessary.
