I am guessing. But child care was 250K as we both work so two kids in day care was 80% the cost of a nanny so just got a nanny.

From there, i mean diapers, food, stroller, car sets, plane tickets, recreation, clothes etc ...... GOTTA be 100K, just has to be.

its very expensive any way you slice it

then if you want your kids to have a leg up on the competition its even crazier (private school, first car at 16 paid for so they can study / do extracurriculars to build college resume while other kids work a job, gas/insurance, of course they want to go on spring break with friends, paying for their college and grad school so they aren't left with crushing debt when they start work, etc).

My kids will have a leg down on the competition the way I did... crap school, no car, forced to work during school.

I do have a college fund set up though... so they're already starting better off than I did.

90% of people i know don't take care of their dogs like they should.

the ones that do you would never know they had a dog in their house. they'd have regular grooming appointments. nails trimmed. breath won't stink because they brush their teeth regularly and give them healthy food (or even a raw diet) instead of cheapo kibble from the store. be trained not to run up and lick everyone or bark at the doorbell.

the ones that do look after them... its a sight to see. my friends german shepherd is better behaved and smarter than most kids and has zero stink.

Your dog stinks, they all stink. The second I walk into a house I smell dog...if there's dog. Some are worse than others but it is there. It's always there.

Now that I can agree w, one can always tell if they have a dog. ALWAYS. Dog ppl's noses are just desensitized.
Don't even get me started about those brown rings of gross all over the home

Dogs are beautiful creatures but A LOT of upkeep, I've considered them but my time for them has passed unfortunately.

Again on 5 acres, outside dogs, they were really easy. Just hard farm animals. Always cross breeds too, pures are soft.

So no real cost, ate left overs and no vet visits.....

Brown rings?

Those of us that bath our dogs on the regular don't have stank azz dogs. Yes, they all smell sometimes...like coming in from the bathroom in the rain.

Anyway, I hate cats. Box of shit on my house? NOPE!

At least a dog gives a crap about you and may be able to protect you.

Yep, upkeep. When ours dies, we're not getting anymore

Spot on. I have had & traned a lot of dogs in my life. Whenever I see these dogs that run wild it pisses me off. Then the owners will just say bs like "Oh, that's just Fido!" No, it's you being a lazy moron ahole that should not be allowed to have a pet or kids.GFY

Manure stains unless you use TP on your dog's butt which don't think anybody does, so whenever they sit, it could be nasty as they butt-imprint all over the place.

I never said anything about cats. *shrug*

Anyway, how did a thread about C8 turn into one about K9? LOL.

Because dog owners = vegans = lgbqtrslmnop

Certain groups feel a need to make everything about what’s super important to them.

Better animals than American politics these O/T rambles seem to always morph into.

Agreed on dogs, they need a bath if they stink. It's night and day before/after...

Cat litter stinks but the cats themselves seem to get a pass unless you're allergic.

As for the C8, I still don't get the appeal.
