i thought 'stay close' was borderline dreck. the first 3-4 episodes are just bad set-up storytelling. it actually improved toward the end, but i didnt buy the big reveal...

I didn't know there was a Bosch. I'm assuming it's the LA detective from the books? I'll check it out. So much for me not watching much TV.

I didn't think the first 4 seasons were that depressing; in any manner. Season 5 though? That's a different story.

I can see how some could see the show as depressing though.

Cowboy Bebop (not the animated version) on Netflix is my new favorite show. Just a totally different style, even though it has a decent amount of violence my wife is still enjoying it.

I agree. I saw it a long time ago so I might be wrong, but I think the start was actually the least depressing part and is what got me into it. Then a few seasons in it gets REAL depressing and I stopped watching for a long time. Finally ended up starting it up again and while I never got not depressing, it got a little less depressing than the season that made me quit and ended up being an awesome show.

There are shows I need to be in the mood to watch. BB was one of them. I think Game of Thrones is another. I still have not finished that, it gets very depressing and I end up taking long breaks from it. Last episode I watched a couple of months ago was the red wedding ffs! Need a break after that one.

I really like the Better Call Saul spinoff series also. Significantly less depressing IMO.

A spot-on summary!

I agree. Not nearly as good as BB imo.

Though I am only through S4-E5 or 6; something like that. I think there are 5 seasons currently right?

Those were both really good but so was Walter in Tuco’s office (and so many others).

That's literally the worst episode of the entire series.

Also, I thought the ending of Dexter: New Blood was lame. If they somehow came up with a season two, I won't be interested.

And to tranquility, you can't reasonably expect to get a "spoiler warning" for a show that ended nearly a DECADE ago.

I watched it last night. Not at all what I expected, definitely disappointing.

See here's the thing, the original was fine to me, it was creative and he did what he had to do. You get the hollywood ending in New Blood and it feels formulaic, so predictable and lame.
