About top gun Maverick:

Spoiler alert!

I really enjoyed it. It's not the greatest movie ever, as some had personally told me, but I did really enjoy it. I thought it was a little bit too sentimental, and Iran will not have fifth generation stealth fighters. That was kind of silly. The Russians can't provide themselves with fifth generation fighters. But I love the last ride of the F 14, and how that might have accurately been portrayed. Kinda.

Ps they should not let people watch this movie and drive sports cars home. Way too dangerous.

Will see it eventually. All the good opinions of it.

I like Tom Cruise, anyway.

He is a real movie star. Kinda like me, if I've been given a chance.

Fun video from real Top Gun pilots. It's cool to hear them break down some of the maneuvers pulled off in the movie.

Watched and old movie titled “Identity” with John Cusack, Ray Liotta, and Amanda Peet. Pretty enjoyable. Going to watch “Eraser” with Arnold Schwarzenegger tonight. Love me these action and thriller movies.

For some weird reason, I always confuse this w another film…one of them involves some supernatural elements, killing demons, probably not this one…argh…one w Matthew McConaghey?

Anyone recall Ravenous (1999)?
I loved it from the first watch... haven't seen it in years, going to try to dig it up. IMO, underrated and deserving of a view. Jeffrey Jones was fantastic, Robert Carlyle too.

Ravenous is a 1999 horror Western cannibal film directed by Antonia Bird and starring Guy Pearce, Robert Carlyle, Jeffrey Jones and David Arquette.[3] The film revolves around cannibalism in 1840s California and some elements bear similarities to the story of the Donner Party and that of Alferd Packer. Screenwriter Ted Griffin lists Packer's story, as recounted in a couple of paragraphs of Dashiell Hammett's The Thin Man, as one of his inspirations for Carlyle's character.

I thought this movie was great - better than the first one. It was made in the older style of the first one so no nonsense.

Potential spoiler-

The two things that stuck out to me-

1) The beginning w the stealing of the new hypersonic plane... m8 thats not how it works... u are going to jail and dishonorably discharged. Also... Mach 10 has never been remotely reached in an aircraft. Also... no one is asking a near 60 year old to come back and fly planes.

2) We haven't had aerial dogfighting since the Vietnam war era lol... when the first top gun came out in 1986... it was already essentially over. Current day planes like the F22 are made for long range attack and would never engage in this type of combat... or instead be replaced by a drone... this type of pilot training no longer exists.

Its a movie I know I know... I really liked it but just bringing some real perspective in.
