My wife and I talked about taking another shot at Breaking Bad, we quit that after 3 episodes.

I watched Stay Close with Cush Jumbo & James Nesbitt this week as well, 8 part brit crime/thriller. I like brit crime drama and I guess this was ok, not the best by a long shot but if you want an 8 episode thing to pass some time it was ok.

I'm up to date on Succession, but other than being amused at how dysfunctional they are, I'm not feeling it.

I'm into season two of Breaking Bad. Try it again.

No spoilers please, I'll watch the final Dexter tonight and also can't wait for Ozark.

Did you ever watch Donovan? I watched the first episode a few weeks ago, people say it was great. Lots of seasons on that one.

The bag or the bat! Ray Donovan is brilliant. The characters are amazing, I loved and hated his father Mickey. It get's pretty dark at places.

Bosch is also excellent if you haven't tried it, we also really enjoyed Peaky Blinders.

If it wasn't for you guys praising it, I may have dropped out season one. Much of it was just so depressing. Some screwed up shit going on season two.

House of Cards was excellent for the first 4 seasons, especially the first two were incredibly gripping, some of the plot points were a getting a bit wonky as the show continued (such as husband and wife as President and VP) and season 5 stumbled a bit, but season 6 was a dumpster fire, of course because of Kevin Spacey's horrible actions which got him fired, as well as just the fact there was no possible way to write him out of the show easily and have Robin Wright take over.

i thought 'stay close' was borderline dreck. the first 3-4 episodes are just bad set-up storytelling. it actually improved toward the end, but i didnt buy the big reveal...

I didn't know there was a Bosch. I'm assuming it's the LA detective from the books? I'll check it out. So much for me not watching much TV.

I didn't think the first 4 seasons were that depressing; in any manner. Season 5 though? That's a different story.

I can see how some could see the show as depressing though.

Cowboy Bebop (not the animated version) on Netflix is my new favorite show. Just a totally different style, even though it has a decent amount of violence my wife is still enjoying it.

I agree. I saw it a long time ago so I might be wrong, but I think the start was actually the least depressing part and is what got me into it. Then a few seasons in it gets REAL depressing and I stopped watching for a long time. Finally ended up starting it up again and while I never got not depressing, it got a little less depressing than the season that made me quit and ended up being an awesome show.

There are shows I need to be in the mood to watch. BB was one of them. I think Game of Thrones is another. I still have not finished that, it gets very depressing and I end up taking long breaks from it. Last episode I watched a couple of months ago was the red wedding ffs! Need a break after that one.

I really like the Better Call Saul spinoff series also. Significantly less depressing IMO.

I agree. Not nearly as good as BB imo.

Though I am only through S4-E5 or 6; something like that. I think there are 5 seasons currently right?

Those were both really good but so was Walter in Tuco’s office (and so many others).
