Very interesting would love to know more, do you happen to have any links of the article?

: Maxi-pad... That is some comedy gold.

Oh happy day! I find it fitting that someone finally did their homework and got this survey done. This is a big chunk of their sales. Don't see this grille moving forward too much further than this gen.

I'm impressed. Either the driver is amazing or that dog-faced-pony-soldier of a car is that smooth and stable.

I'm hoping for a win. The G87 M2 will be the only thing left that BMW can offer me to keep me in brand after the abortion of the G80/82.

I love my F80 but my 135 still has a special place in the heart.

Having owned both believe me I understand your fondness

Not sure why BMW cannot stop making them larger with every generation

I'm sure it's a combination of regulations, consumer demand (for what I don't know), and SUVs.

It's a damn shame. Sooner or later, it will have to stop. Basic physics, but we'll see.

The G87 M2 is the last car standing in BMW's upcoming line-up to resemble something close to an interesting sports car.

The G series M3/M4, performance aside have become so big that I don't know how people can navigate through in cities like Paris or Rome with maze of small tight streets. One certainly can't drive them fast on tight narrow winding roads due to their sheer body length...

Wishy thinking here. It will be a victory for M if they can make the G87 closer to a 1M than an F87 M2 in the spirit of driving engagement. Think more analogue than digital...real grainy imperfective substance over fake sounds or artificially induced sensation...and keep that manual handbrake as well!

Sorry for muddying the 2er thread. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.wap.../news/1371/amp

The article, albeit a bit obscure, has an image of the survey all in Mandarin of course. I am pursuing the original survey and have a good friend to translate.

Always regretted going from my 135is to the M4. The 135is was more fun 95% of the time, it also sounded MUCH better.

I am hopeful for this car, should be my replacement for the G20. This and G87 are the two I am interested in and most likely may end up with both. G87 may be last modern M car that peaks my interest. It maybe all downhill from here with ICE becoming obsolete. That's more of an issue than even the size since I am not ready for EV.

I am not personally interested in G42, but it does look nice for a base 2-series.

Under impression G42 has the same B58 engine found in Supra?

Anticipated timing of G87 M2C release will suit me perfectly. I have another 1-2 years of enjoyment left in my F87 M2C.

I am sure the G87 will be drawn out over a good year of so-called 'spy shots' and an enormous thread of its own. It will be fun watching it all unfold.

Size one can see but how are you able to estimate the weight from the photos, or is there other evidence? Are you assuming increased size without weight saving measures?
