Which is the same CLAR chassis as the G05 X5. But you have a point in that the chassis is stretched a little bit and dimensionally bigger so it’s going to weigh a little bit more.

Just like we see in EVs, aging batteries are going to prematurely destroy the resale value of these. A 80k mile PHEV M5 will likely have the value of a 120k mile ICE M5.

911s just make the most sense...gold standard driving dynamics, iconic design, hold their value, and more reliable than other sports cars. No point [for me] pursing these ugly and overpriced modern products from BMW M, AMG, etc.

Much like watches, I'm finding myself really only caring about one brand and one or two products from said brand. That's all I need.
time to pick up a Dodge Hornet R/T lol

Full EV is probably a lot better than a hybrid though.

I disagree, they will not degrade much if BMW does it properly. Also, a 120k ICE M5 has generally fallen off a cliff already. Who wants an S63 engine over 100k? The thing is a rat's nest of wiring and going to turn into a money pit.

My brother in Christ, that’s a very strong if for a first generation lol. Sans the forever failing coolant tank issue of the S63, unless it’s been beaten on, it won’t be a rats nest of wiring.

Granted price wise, 2022+ F90s are still holding their price for now.

None of the Hot V BMW V8s hold value so far at high mileage. I realize the S63 is finally decent on the 4th revision and a bunch of N63 revs, but that design is not one I would want to own in 10 years and 100k miles. Watch a teardown of an S63 or N63 and I think you'll agree it's not a very repair friendly design.

When does the m5 officially get released? There’ll be a flurry of reviews and that will be very interesting indeed

I think the price will be just as heavy as it’s weight!

That same cliff ICE M5 see at 120k miles will arrive at ~80k miles for EV M5.

Price Prediction is putting it at US$ 130k as base, with possibility of speccing up to US$ 150k+. Don't doubt that given the prices for I5 M60i fully specced out.

Yeh a lot. I5m60 I saw in showroom a few weeks back (not sure what option were I it) list price £114k
Certainly would he be surprised to see £140k here in the U.K., we shall see
Assume the insurance quotes will match it aswell!

I want to agree but I’m guessing a little lower than your prediction. I think ~$110k base is my Price Is Right Showcase Showdown bid.

2023 base M5 was $109,900 (US price). The G90 M5 will likely be at least $118,900.

And just like that I don't care about the M5. Lot of people in here are quick to handwave the weight away. Nice cope I guess, but not a car for me. If you drove the hybrid panamera or new amg gt e-pref you'd understand.

I bet on 120-125 as starting price. All that weight has to have its value.

That hybrid system added in has to be expensive.

As long as I can build for no more than 150 with BnW diamond, dapp, full leather and executive I'm in. This is assuming these will all be competition. The hope is that I can squeeze the ccf in there, too, but can live w out them.

I drove the S63 AMG E-Performance. Absolute shit

Far too heavy. It feels heavy under power, under cornerng, under braking.

Not only that, there is the inevitable issue, that in Comfort Mode the thing takes 2s to start moving as it has to turn on the ICE engine, then kickdown. Even in Sport Plus, there is a hesitancy that a 4.0TT V8 S63 does not have.

The Panamera Turbo S, is bad as well, but less worse, when I experienced it. Porsche somehow integrated the two engines better, but the electric engine in the Turbo S is pretty small.
