Another day near 60F in February. I hope this doesn't mean we'll be frying in high temps by April. Last summer was brutally hot and humid. Enough of that.

All that rain in January has had a salutory effect on the backyard flowers. That and 50/60's w/plenty of sun.

All is calm right now in Minneapolis with a temp of 12 Fahrenheit and no snow. Starting later today and through Thursday afternoon the forecast calls for 20 to 30 inches of snow, bitter cold, and windy. My kiddos school district already called it and said no school tomorrow and Thursday. Could be the biggest blizzard here since Halloween in 1991. I really hope the experts aren't right.

For those in other states/areas close to Minneapolis I'm sure you are getting some weather too. Stay safe and warm!

That one's supposed to hit us too on Wednesday afternoon/evening. Day time temps around -3C (27F) with 20mm (3/4") of "freezing rain" and 5-10cm (2-4") of snow.

What is the rain to snow conversion again? I remember 1mm rain = 1cm snow from somewhere?

Probably another frozen car picture in the future...

Don't know what's gotten into LA since late November, but it's been quite cold, cloudy, and rainy here. A few days of sunshine sprinked in but it's generally been ugly out. Another week of clouds and rain awaits.

Wind is HOWLING. Power is already off at work due to fallen tree, but generator is functional for now

When precipitation starts over next 12-24, there could be snow in Malibu

Yep, big winds here too, Wede. Expecting 3 inches of rain over the next few days. Got the pump set up for the back yard.

Might be the last big rain of the season.

Got some icy rain. The roads are super salty. Thankfully, I did not have work today so my car stayed inside.

Apparently, the subdivision nearby has no power. Trees etc down in other areas. Thankfully, we're all good where I am.

Spoke to soon. Our whole entire subdivision lost power around 8:30pm. Power came back on at 12:30am. Good thing we installed a battery backup sub pump after finishing the basement.

The house got cold of course. Temperature upstairs went from 68 to 63 and downstairs went from 66 to 62.

Hooked up our generator to the next door neighbors house so his wife can keep the oxygen machine working.

We only got about 3-4" of snow and some ice later on to solidify the snow. It was thick enough to stand on this morning. There wasn't any actual wet rain, it was more like pellets that melted and re-froze.

Thankfully there were no power outages here.. Had to do a little bit of archeology to get the car on the road this morning.

I haven't been on the roads since Tuesday. So, not sure if there's still ice or if it's just water since the temperature outside right now is 35 degrees F

Too damn warm. Which means...wife is breaking out the honey do list!!

Had me replanting shrubs and everything last night since we are expanding our front porch and the contractor had to dig up 4 shrubs yesterday morning.

Come on cold temps!! Give me atleast another month or so!

Tuesday night wind blew down a big Eucalyptus tree a few blocks from City Hall during a Council meeting, everything went dark

Generator came on for PD, but Edison had no ETA on when they would even de-energize the lines, so a major n/s street was block for almost 24 hours.

I left my house, it was dry. I get to work and it's pouring, and I got no hat for my head. I HATE when my head gets wet while at work. I had checked weather before I left and there was no water in the air until tomorrow in their forecast.

Currently, it's barely 47 <shivers uncontrollably>
