Do not link your main bank account to this. Open an internet banking account online with Capital One online. Use an account like that one only for funding. Do not use your main banking account for stuff like this. Only put in there what you are willing to lose.

It is better to be safe in the event of a hack. Also better to store your currencies on your own end.

I have credit card fraud protection for now, and my investment is small. I may transfer to a paper wallet later, though that is not a guarantee of anything when you go to withdraw money you are at risk unless you withdraw everything and then fund a new wallet with new keys.

Same here. Got fucked over on Tron and Cardano. Would’ve made a great return, but I have to wait so i wasn’t able to bank on them doubling/tripling.

Had you signed up and bought when I said so you would be a happy camper today. Look at QTUM and ZCASH Price today.

Here is something to keep in mind..

In September about 33,000 people were opening accounts on Coinbase. In November the number climbed to 100,000 accounts per day. The prices of Bitcoin pretty much doubled if not tripled since then and the account opening tripled. Those people opening accounts can only buy. They can not short so if you have that many people opening accounts the prices can only climb. This does not require Einstein to figure out. With that many people opening accounts at one exchange server and that is just one exchange server it really does not require a rocket scientist to figure out which way they will be headed. Since the market crashed in 2008/2009 for 9 years straight quarter after quarter in the US they only went up taking out every single person who tried to short. Remember when Amazon and Tesla were going up an people tried calling a top..? Remember Google..? One thing to keep in mind is that this is different because everyone in the world can buy this. This is not a stock to where just the locals can buy.

I was able to sign up actually and am making way more money than a cd lol. You should at the very least open a brokerage account and invest in some high performing stocks rather than letting the bank make money of your money and give you virtually nothing for it.

Not everyone likes to gamble with their retirement. If you do then, well you're an idiot... and yes, these crypto currencies ARE a gamble.

Who said anything about putting their retirement in crypto? Btw, really all investments are gambling! Some just riskier than others. Hence "past performance is no guarantee of future results". I know in bull market everyone forgets the stock market doesn't always go up. You could very well lose up to 30-50% tomorrow even with conservative asset allocation. Market correction is coming.

Investing in the S&P 500 index isn't gambling. You can lose 50% at any time, but only if you sell.

In 50 years, I know with almost 100% certainty the S&P 500 will be higher, but I have no idea on cryptocurrency. That is the difference.

Bitcoin is parabolic at the moment and backed by nothing but someone willing to pay more. Stocks are backed by real companies, making real things, that make real money.

50 years? Of course. That works if your 10 years old! For those a bit more mature, 50 years is too long. You simply can not guarantee a positive return over 5-10 years based on historical market data. Likely but not guaranteed.

Again, you are missing the point. Nobody on here said to invest in crypto and not stocks. But if you have a spare bit of cash it is fun.

It's fun when it goes up. Sure, invest some play money in it, but it's gambling. You'll do fine in stocks over 20 years too.
