This will now be my practice bottle to drill the hole in the bottom for the cord. If that works OK wife is pretty good/patient at putting ceramic back together. Current project:

That was easier than I thought with a diamond-bit for ceramic. Have to consult with wife if we should try to protect label or not

To protect the label you would likely either drill the hole in a different spot, or take an xacto knife and cut a circle for where the drill bit is going so when it pulls on the label (which it will) it will not distort anything but where you are drilling.

....The label should pull right off without much effort, they purposely glue it lightly for removal since they want the bottles used for decoration, they actually include instructions to do so in each bottle!

Wasn't in love with Weller Special on the rocks but it makes a pretty decent Old Fashioned.

Yeah Weller SR is a pretty mediocre whiskey.

On the other hand I have heard nothing but great things about this bottle I grabbed on sale for $56 today.

I think my local liquor store has this on the shelf, I might pick it up next time I am there. I have a bottle of 120 proof Knob single barrel for the bad days. Haha.

It is not that hard to find, just don't see it under $70 very often around here. At $70 it is good but not a must have.

Not bad. I dont mind spending $70 for a $70 bottle but I hate the idea of playing $300 for a $70 bottle. My last bottle of Weller 12 was $65. Im going to Birmingham next weekend with the wife and I have had good luck over there finding bottles at shelf price. I need to replace my Blantons and Weller 12(not worth a penny over $65), and there are a few other bottles I would like to add.

Another pretty good bottle at the $70ish price is Jefferson Ocean.

I picked this up, the pale straw colour of the scotch does not do the actual nose any justice. Pretty good nose, smells a little of apple, maybe some sea brine, but overall quite smooth I thought.

No, but I appropriate the crap out of all sorts of cultures. Got the teepee there in case the boys feel like being Indians, and then right beside is the horse if they want to switch and be cowboys. Look at that. Cultural appropriation at its finest.
