I had a Dutch colleague who lived in Eindhoven. Big Philips town. He invited my family over for dinner one Saturday. I asked him the address and he only gave me the street name. I asked him for the number and he said, "You'll know the house when you get here." Well, we got to the street and 1/2 way down the block was a house with an American flag flying from the flagpole. He was right, we didn't need the number. As soon as we got inside he took the flag down. My wife and I visited them again in 2019 and we got a good laugh recalling that moment.

Yup, hence the Dutch saying: 'De wind van voren krijgen'.

Literally it means 'getting the wind from the front', and it means that you are in for some serious trouble because someone is going to give it to you because you did or said something wrong.

The bikes over there and in Germany seem to be of the heavy easy step in frame variety, not many racers or MTB's there from what I saw.

I don't get it. I've never owned a pickup truck in my life and can safely say I probably won't ever but even I know that if you put liquid or say sand in the bed, shits leaking out, lol.

That individual made it to adulthood somehow. That's the part that blows my mind.
