We have Scrub Jays in our yard in the back. They have the loudest noisiest screech.

We have Scrub Jays as well and yes, they can really make some noise.

I've found that they get pretty quiet when I offer them peanuts. They will sometime eat out of my hand.

Scrub Jays are pretty smart, too. If I put out peanuts and pistachios, they take the pistachios first, every time.

Don't think I want to feed them. That's an invitation that's hard to reverse.

An interesting thing I learned about Scrub Jays is they have the ability to chirp very softly when they want their presence known. I've had them land on my knee, my shoulder and the pillow I put in my lap to help support my iPad. And yes, they can be aggressive, but we seem to have come to some sort of acceptable terms. Heh!

We have a roaming cat that frequents our yard. We don't mind the cat but the scrub jays are always squawking at the cat. Very annoying.

Happy to hear you are interacting with them and enjoying it.
