If you are there on Saturday, Aug 6, check out Ann Wilson on the Louder Stage from 14:00 to 15:00. She's not heavy metal but she's on fire right now, taking a break from her US tour and flying to Germany to perform at the Wacken Festival.

I'll be sure to get to that show. I always liked Heart but really haven't paid any attention to Ann's solo stuff at all. It'll be interesting. Thanx for the tip. There are so many bands playing on stages all over the grounds that it's hard to pick and choose which ones you have to miss in order to make the most of your festival. Often the lesser known bands really put on fantastic shows and at smaller, more intimate venues. One such example from the last time I was there was a group called Alestorm. I came around a corner and there were probably 300-400 people all singing(if you call it that ) along to "Drink" and beer was flying everywhere! It really was an ale storm.

Pirate Metal, banjos, home invasion, mandolins...all in one video. I can see how they can get a crowd going!

It's funny how you say the lesser known bands put on fantastic shows. We saw Heart as an unknown opening act back in the early 70s. Usually the opening act was an okay group meant to fill time while people bought their beer and found their way to their seats. We just arrived at our seats and Heart came on stage. Everyone in the audience just stood their frozen in place other than the collective jaw-dropping that was going on. Nobody was ready for that voice of Ann Wilson and the guitar and moves of her sister.

We've seen Heart a few times over the years and they never disappoint. We were lucky enough to see Ann Wilson solo on her current tour. She has an amazing group of musicians with her and she has never sounded better. I hope you can make it to see her among all the other choices you have on Saturday. Please report back.

I feel safer asking people IRL questions like that. They don't reply with pictures like google; that I can never unsee.

After being gullible and searching pooping in cups, nailing balls to a stump etc, I'm one that's just fine leaving things unanswered for a very long time.

Speaking of lesser bands, I saw Van Halen open for Black Sabbath. They opened with "Eruption". Sabbath was almost a let down.
