Pretty sure teams can make power unit changes if suffering unreliable. Problem is do they have money to do so under the cost cap

This will be the key question as altering the PU's in some way with machining or even replacing the PU base blocks, internal PU components like rods will or if being done now is a huge task even getting it done in time for the Ricard race and returning them to the customer team.

Yes . And at Maranello they must have the necessary technology and the advanced engineering skills to solve the issue at the root .

Won't be easy , but hopefully they can do it .

Almost for sure it should involve stripping one new PU down and identifying the weakness(es) comparing with what they can find on Sainz's destroyed one and MAG's one which he said was on the edge of breaking.
Then they can alter the affected components but as you say it won't be easy.
