Great for forest fires and I wouldn't be surprised if we have an influx of skeeters the size of hummingbirds this summer.

Was decent lagoon swim/beach weather until the thunderheads started to roll in

Stepped out of the office for a site visit and it smells like a bonfire everywhere and super hazy. I can't remember a time when it was worse than this. Beautiful day otherwise. Looks like the wind is pushing down from Quebec according to the map.

Would someone politely ask the Canadians to turn off the Nova Scotia wildfires already? It's time to stop your protests, and accept that Lord Stanley's Cup will be south of the border for another season.
Seriously though, we had lines of thunderstorms come through here at 7:30 AM and 1:30 PM. The latter brought pea to marble sized hail along for extra emphasis. We are also under an air quality advisory today for smoke from said Canadian fires. Visibility is less than 3/4 mile at times, and everything smells like smoke and looks like it is covered in tomato soup whenever the sun tries to shine through the smoke. Shot through a perforated window shade this morning: Outside this afternoon, where the orange sun looked like a dot above the tree on the right:

More orange sun here this morning, with another air quality alert.
I woke up for my 2 AM hourly visit to the drivers lounge, and noticed that it was about 4F warmer inside that it should have been with the central AC running. (Sucks that we can't have our windows open when its 50F outside because Smoky the Bear can't prevent forest fires in Canada.) I fumbled through a filter change, but couldn't see well enough to tell if the old filter was clogged with smoke particles. The AC was working gloriously when I woke up this morning. One of my colleagues here in the office said that NYC recorded the worst AQI in the world yesterday, and the talking heads on this morning's TV news were showing live video of the Statue of Liberty being barely visible in the smoke/haze. Today's smoke is allegedly from fires in Quebec, and smells like it has a French accent.....

Yea its pretty bad out there today, in Greenwich, CT they just issued a very bad air quality and everyone needs to stay indoors or wear a mask. It sucks because I love cruising with the windows down

I walked out of my door last night to go for a walk, and there were little drops of water falling out of the sky. W T F???
Much like Estaban, June gloom bloomed after that bit of water.

Feel sorry for everybody suffering from the Canadian wildfires.
In a couple months we'll be entering the peak of wildfire season down here. |

Finally some much needed steady rain. It was getting way too dry here. The lawns were all turning brown. Should clear some of the pollen out of the air as well.
