Nice shot, DC. Not too far away, eh?

No, I was in my M3 car-blind, switching between the 70-200mm and the 500mm.

Icy J, great image, showing the reactions of both adults and kids. Also, where else to park?
No offense meant, did you stage this, or did it just happen?

I didn't have my tripod, and had the wrong cameras and lenses for this type of shot, but I was there, so I stopped to see what I could get.

Thanks Mark. That was was with the 1D4 and the 100-400 zoom. Not the most ideal landscape combo. I also took some shots with my 7D with a Sigma 18-250 on it, also not a great low light setup, but I managed some passable shots.
I keep meaning to actually get up there with my tripod, 5D3 and some L glass. We finally got some rain though that cleared out a bunch of crap in the air, so it was nice to be able to see the Farallons off the coast. They are about 30 miles from the Golden Gate. One more, this time from the 7D. Sunset from Grizzly Peak by lennycarl08, on Flickr |

I had something to do on Saturday but called my friend and told him to get out there to get that kind of shot. The air quality that day was superior.
Glad it worked for you, not only did you get the killer shot. You got the Farallones which are ~30 miles from the gate and about 50 miles from your location! Air Quality! You also really need to post up "The Bay Bridge at dusk"!

Here you go. Similar to the other one, but a little darker. I'm going to try to get up there on the next clear evening with the right gear.

I haven't been able to get out & about recently, so I have used the time to process some old files. If it's OK I'll post some of those here? Here's one.

^^^nice light on the arch. I don't think there is anything wrong with posting older photos. I have done it as we'll for shots I think people would enjoy looking at.

I agree. I've always thought of the title of the thread referring to the image that you decided to post today. More than one isn't a sin either, just one per post.

(Speaking of old pics, how about 24 years!) It's funny, I flew in this Herc dozens of times all over the AOR during the first go around in the gulf, and years later, this very nose art ended up on a plastic model version of the C-130E. I don't even know if they make it anymore.

Thanks.
Thank you for flying Air America also. I hope the snacks they give out are better than the tiny packages of nuts I get. ;-)
