You know you're old when...

You do the "spectacles, testicles, wallet and watch" routine before walking out the door.

This should probably be in the quotes section, but...

White man build big fire, sit way back.

Indian build small fire, sit real close.

I'm on a ski trip with the family and these old guy realities have presented themselves.

...when you go skiing with your grandchildren and they challenge you to a race and you say, "no thanks, I'm good."

...when you come to a junction and one way is groomed and the other way is moguls the size of VWs, and you pick the boring groomed run.

...when the lift opens at 8:30am and you are just fine with getting there by 10:30am.

...when the lifts close at 4pm and you are just fine stopping at 2:30pm.

Don't get me wrong, I'm quite content cruising and taking my time, but after years of go-go-go, I cannot believe I'm okay with slowing down. I'm either evolved or just plain old!

I don't remember that bike, but I had a similar bike, the Schwinn Apple Krate:

This bike had a drum brake in the front and a racing slick for the rear tire. Spring suspension front end and shocks on the seat mount, and a five-speed with car-style shifter.

Unfortunately, they still do. Either that, or it blows out of their pickup truck.

I wanted the orange version, called the Orange Krate. Folks gave us Schwinn 10-speeds for Christmas instead. I was pissed, but they were right. We were getting too old for the stingray type bikes. I would have outgrown it in a year.
