Wait is that weight real?
5370 lbs isn’t a M What are they thinking Been drinking that MB koolaid Even a model S plaid is only 4766 lbs and that’s full electric Guess the last real M5 and the one that will probably be the last “classic” is the F90 M5 CS |

Estate M5 for a quick, practical family car & G80/82 manual for the fun car. The M5 is no longer both imho at that size and weight.

Really BMW still a 1 piston floating rear caliper.. This car is heavy asf should have a fixed rear. Plus it looks cheap asf. They can easily do a 2/4 piston rear with a EPB lots of cars do that

Facts and also once you drain that battery performance driving now you're tugging a heavy ass vehicle + battery pack with only 577hp

The New M5 is a disgrace to the M heritage. It looks like a bloated 7 series.

Sounds good. I’ll hopefully get a good deal on one or maybe not because same thing happened with the M3 and years later still going for close to MSRP.

I am glad this car does not have wide-flared fenders. When is the full reveal already? Production is supposed to start this summer

The new 5 series design is absolutely hideous. I am hoping the M5 will be better, but with such a poor design platform to start from, I have my doubts. Fingers crossed.

I still have hope, I’m sure this is not the finished product. I just hope it has a regular M front grille and better wheels. All we can really see are the doors which I figured would be the same as the regular model.

They went with the fat, oversized rocker panels ( sideskirts) which is such a mistake. Sporty cars look better with a thin body, not a fat waist line. They made that mistake with the new M2 and M8/M850. The M8 GC alternatively has thin rocker panels and looks way better, so does the f90 m5. I mean look at a GTR when they paint the sideskirts the same color as the body...🤮

Doesn’t it regen? Over 60 miles my iX gains a dozen kWh. The AMG regens effectively as well in sport+ or track modes. I’ve posed this question in the XM forums, but I haven’t gotten a clear answer. I haven’t driven a PHEV, so it’s a bit unclear to me.

Yes. Guys love to raise this point about it running out of juice and then being just a heavy ICE. Unless you’re using 100% of the power 100% of the time this thing is acting like a standard hybrid and refilling the batteries when it can and adding the extra power to the wheels when needed. I totally get (and agree with) the complaints about weight and understand why some/most want a pure ICE, but criticism like this goes beyond those legit complaints and relies on a basic misunderstanding of how PHEVs work.

I’m not a fan but I’m scratching my head at some of these reactions. Y’all knew this is what it would be, right? The G60 has been out for a while. It was never going to be THAT different looking. Same basic suit of clothes, with a different tie and cufflinks.
But I hope they get gobbled up and the masses jump on the latest and greatest because I want to get an F90 next year and a little more depreciation wouldn’t hurt my feelings.

How can this car be slated to start being built in July and here we are in May and they haven’t even officially unveiled the car yet? When do they usually unveil a new model in relation to when it’s going to start production? How many months prior?

M3 was still able to stay under 4,000 lbs with a 500hp gas engine and a midsize footprint. M5 is just a huge heavy boat. At least they kept the V8 and didn’t go with a smaller engine hybrid like merc did with C63, no one wants that trash. There is a reason prices are skyrocketing on used V12 Ferraris. I would take a used GTC4lusso any day over this new M5 |
