It pains me to say but I'd pick an RS6 Performance over the G99 every time.

G9x as a whole is a big disappointment to me.

This in carbon black looks amazing! Carbon black with Kyalami interior would look amazing!

Why is Matt from Carwow not doing any or getting any love?

I can’t wait for someone to do F90 vs G90 drag for fun.

I made fun of the touring so much a year ago and now I real like it better than the sedan. Haha. Next M5 might be the touring 😂

Wonder if throttle house didn’t get the invite after the M2 review.

Nah. They are quite busy and they rarely do press trips. Plus, having StraightPipes there, they covered that market and youtube as well. Can't bring everyone, funds are limited

Good points but still I believe people are more interested in M5 just because of the badge.
XM people might be those whos cross shop between X models ( X3/4/5/6/7)

This is terrible logic. Having reviews first is paramout for views and Straight Pipes aren’t their buddies to just let them take their market share, they’re competitors.

Why would that be terrible logic? What does BMW have to do with those two content creators being competitors? HB meant that from BMW’s perspective they did get to cover that market with StraightPipes being there. You also seem to actually agree, as you just said they are in fact competitors in the same market.

Along the same lines, maybe it wasn’t a BMW marketing funds question and they did get invited as well and just couldn’t/didn’t want to fit the trip into their schedules for 90 minutes with the car and will just do an in-depth review once they can get a local car.

Exactly. Same size wheels all around, good stance, and is good to go. Blocky, minimal design will work perfectly.

I’m probably just going to buy two more rear wheels to install on the front.

It is very handsome looking. I’ve driven one recently. The most dated aspect of the vehicle is the technology. Less that it is spartan and more that it is slow and clunky. I like that the tech is simple in my Audi. One of the aspects Audi nailed, in their prior generation at least, was a cockpit where the driver can almost immediately intuit what to do to engage some function.

So the fundamentals of the cockpit and cabin are strong. It is really just that the infotainment is sort of like a Nintendo Switch in 2024. It had its day but that passed in the 2010s. It just is not as snappy as MBUX or iDrive 8+. Ironically, I think both the Nintendo and Audi infotainment are running on Nvidia SOCs.

Not to mention going to be significantly redesigned really soon.

Cost more, outdated tech inside and out, less power and typical audi maintenance nightmare.

I love the RS6 but there is no way to justify dropping 145-155K on a aging car now assuming dealers aren't still asking ADM price.

Will there even be an ICE RS6 in the next generation? I thought they teased that it is going electric.

I heard it will be called RS7 Avant going forward but not sure. I don't follow Audi news much.

HB is the one that mentioned they're competitors...I absolutely know BMW could care less. Everyone is a competitor on Youtube, them both being Canadian doesn't matter whatsoever.

Throttle House has 3.1 million subscribers to Straight Pipes 1.75. That 3.1 million is higher than 95% of the list on the first page. Most have under 1 million subs.

All I'm saying is I feel like they were either not invited...or had a scheduling issue.

If it can’t do this, then hard pass. It’s a station wagon, right?

Hybrid.. similar to the M5, same ZF 8speed and ev motor using the VW corporate 4.0 tt v8. I Expect 710-740hp and the same 737ft lbs of torque.

87mph EV only top speed and probably a 23-26 kwh battery and 30-40 miles of EV range.. weight 5400-5600lbs would be my guess.
