BMW is probably going to get some new customers and lose plenty of former F90 owners who migrate to full luxury barges (since its all PHEV and heavy anyway) or to Porsche products.

If you are not an enthusiast and just care about the newest, yeah the G90 is the best.

Now, if you like driving, then yeah its disappointing. 500kg heavier, larger (but not any bigger inside), not what we were expecting. Besides I was expecting more chassis tech considering weight and dimensions of this beast.

I am an enthusiast, I own older and newer vehicles. And I felt that the F90 M5 was probably one of the best cars ever made in terms of what it achieved (although a little muted)
This bring little to no improvement.

It looks fantastic especially with that paint. I can’t believe that it is heavier than my i5 M60. I’m not sure the weight of the battery is worth it. I’m not big on hybrids.

Well it’s quicker at least that is what every owner of a new car brags about. Not something to brag about with this one.

Does this thing come with the legit Bowers and Wilkins Diamond sound or just the B&W lite version available in the regular G60?

What about full leather?

I notice some are complaining about the weight but hopefully this thing will mysteriously fly with some aftermarket support…😎

I’ll await the REAL performance numbers before drawing any conclusion. On intriguing thing is this thing might only be a flash tune and e85 away from 1,000 horsepower.

Everyone is talking about the design, but they totally lost the big image here.

The car performance is horrible.
The F90 M5 is quicker.
The current M3 is quicker.
The current C63S is quicker
Even the Tesla Model 3 is quicker.

This is a disaster that had never happened in the entire M division history

Wow! I need to price the M5 with all the options I got in my 540i. Which is pretty much every option. It certainly has the engine I want plus the hybrid. It looks fantastic in green, but I would still choose black metallic.

Now the fun thing is that everybody hates new C63 with 4 cyl yet it is quicker than the old C in every measureble aspect. This one is slower heavier and I honestly doubt it’ll do sport part of sport sedan better than outgoing model. When F90 came out it was praised for its dynamics and handling aspect over it’s predecessor. This one is huge disappointment from the get go but hey. You can play video game on its huge screen

Damn that’s a heavy car…I like the last gen way more. The seats look nice. But the screen is meh. I like the physical controls in the idrive 7.
I’m not a fan of hybrids personally and you can see how it affects trunk space. It’s a disappointment.

Things you must know :
The new M5 is quicker to 200 km than older M5
0-200 in 10.9 sec
M5 F90 took 11.1 sec
M5 competition took 10.8 sec

Surprisingly, the new M5 has more trust and more capability around corners than older M5 and thanks to torque vectoring and rear wheal suspension. Of course I’m not talking about F90 CS.

Let’s accept that, the heavy weight gave the car more technology make it easier to drive, more comfort, less fuel consumption!

For me as I want a daily sport car, I would take this car over any other available M car! It meets my desire

At this rate, I might stick to the F-chassis cars for the rest of my life.

We didn't even get a full/legit review yet...

These initial press drives with the camo car rarely tell us anything.

Love how everyone is quick to jump to conclusions without any real review but read off a spec sheet and pretend like they know how the car feels to drive. Not sure how everyone is suddenly into HP and torque but personally, if BMW nailed the chassis tuning, I would take that instead of this never ending increase of HP between generations.
