None of those M5 can tow the unloaded truck, that thing probably transports multiple 911 GT3 RS and Panamera turbo s E-hybrid also.
Sometimes size matters. Not sure what’s the point you are making lol

On the subject of weight, a new M5 specced with a carbon roof and ceramic brakes is within 10 kilograms of weight difference to the Panamera turbo s E-hybrid.
I don't frequent porsche forums, (is there a panamera board?), but if there is one I doubt that posters over there bitch about that car's weight the way people comment about the M5 over here. |

There is no hope, the "old ways" are gone and all that remains are cars like the new M5. Even "if" BMW would attempt to make cars like back then, they couldnt, because modern emission, safety and noise regulations would'nt allow for it.

All excuses, Elon still makes cars but makes crap quality cars and pockets big margins. If not so greedy they ‘could’ set a new standard BMW management is enjoying some immunity behind the curtain of regulations, emissions and what not. Merc and Porsche still making decent cars following same regulations. And the biggest load of bollocks is the design language also being forced into the current abominations by regulations. There is enough BS in the claims that have been made in the past (sorry this is not targeted at you).

The new M5 is not being marketed as a track focused sedan. The M5 has not been marketed as a track focused sedan ever since the recirculating ball equipped e39. Since the e39 M5, there have always been smaller bmw M models available that fit the description of a track focused sedan immeasurably better. Look at this Porsche released video Isn't this a pretend track focused sedan with two different wheelbase versions, both measuring over 5 meters long? Whose lost plot are you referring to? |

But most concerning to me is that BMW lacks the chassis systems to make a heavy car both handle and ride well. Other OEMs use air suspension, 48v anti-roll, hydraulic cross-linked, Porsche's "Active Ride", etc. The XM shows why they're so important. It has horrible ride, while still not handling as well as a Cayenne PHEV. I hope I'm wrong and BMW achieved a decent ride-handling balance with the M5. I think the M5 looks good, it's just the above I take issue with. |

The US and EU have different rules for how low you can discharge a battery for rating usable capacity. Which is why you see the battery capacity in the euro specs be 18.6 vs 14.8 in the US specs. The battery in both is the same with a gross capacity of 22.1. |
