BMW isn’t moving from this design language sorry to break it to you.
dukec left, and we get two new heads of design.

if you don’t think this will change design i’m not sure what to tell you.

As I look at the new X3 and its design language, I beg to differ as it isn’t my cup of tea

No they didn’t. It was a restructure like German automakers typically do after every generation or so. The head of BMW Design also remains.

I wonder what the Tiresrift ratio is?

Then you can calculate the cost per drift 😁

I actually don’t mind the car but there is an important question to ask. What defines Motorsport? You could potentially make an M bus but doesn’t that make the term Motorsport pointless? Maybe this M5 hasn’t crossed that line yet but at what weight and size does M become a joke?

This car is close to perfect for its intended buyer. The executive who wants luxury and to feel special but when they want to take out some business frustration and stress out on the car they can.

Close to zero buyers in the target market will drift outside a skid pan.

Nearly all new BMW models are hated these days, but like the G80 and G82 these will sell like crazy to their intended market.

Nothing is perfect but IMO BMW have almost nailed this, again at their target market.

… could not agree more. The car targets the desired consumer segment very well. And that’s the most direct road to profits.

The new X3? Waiting for the sales statistics.

He is no longer working on BMWs and that is what is relevant here. he is going to rolls royce. which is great, because I want BMWs to look good again.

“Dukec’s previous responsibilities will now be shared by two people: Maximilian Missoni and Oliver Heilmer”

Sorry to inform you, but the Neue Klasse design is made by the same team. You’ll start seeing it in 2026 and for several years to come. Which looks great imo.

Edit for your edited post: Yes, Maximilian Missoni comes from Polestar as we know, and Oliver Heilmer from Mini department.

Btw M5 exterior design is made by Jose Casas, same as with M2.

considering the new projects will no longer be headed by dokec, and due to the fact that they have brought in two people with very different design philosophy, this is not true.

while it will still be called neue klasse, dokec’s hand will be out of it, which will definitely lead to changes.

jose casas UNDER dokec.

if you think design language isn’t going to change a smidge given that dokec left and two new heads were brought in, I’m not sure what to tell you.

Yes, Jose was lead by Domagoj. Just want to tell, than no matter that BWM Group team is rearranged, Neue Klasse is done, approved and now in testing phase, test mules rolled out already. Design is of course will be different, but made by the exact same you hate so much.

Max from Polestar and others - don't expect influenced design by them any time soon. That's just not how it works.

That’s more accurate. Really just 1 new guy though. IMO this shuffling around was more a matter of routine rather than in reaction to any sentiment from the public. Hooydonk is still the design boss. Things are always changing and we’re already seeing that with the NK cars (which were designed years ago), so yes the design language will change. That would’ve happened whether we liked it or not.
