Yikes this is a rough review but hard to argue. I just wanted a good US touring option but alas still need to wait

I don’t agree, m5 has has been 0-60 and 1/4 car for a while, it has been its hallmark. Coming in as a 3.4sec car is a disappointment, let’s be honest we wanted it to be 2.6second and low 10s 1/4 mile car plus murder the previous f90 like it never existed. It didn’t happen, we are dissapointed and will still buy one because we don’t want the m8 or Xm, we want the m5.

Fair points too.

Each to their own, I guess.

For me, I’d sacrifice a little performance to make it more daily-use friendly but I hear what you’re saying.

Hope they make a red label so we can get back on track…

However, I’m in the market for a new car in this space. What’s the competition really? Also bear in mind that full ICE will add $70,000 to the price in my market. 🤯
It’s too bad communism eventually won in Europe. Oh well. Guess I will by American in the future (or Porsche if they’re able to stay ICE).

Imagine thinking buying a 5500lb V8 hybrid to do 0-60 pulls is good for the planet. Imagine getting a V8 hybrid so you can drive electric-only regularly 🤔. And for those talking air quality, please provide some evidence. I’ve been to EU cities and London and their air is subjectively sh*t compared to cities here such as SF or even NYC. Me thinks personal vehicles are not the most important piece of that equation..

For everyone that is freaking out...historically they didn't like the initial versions of the last generation... but like anything bmw does...

As time goes on the hot sauce gets hotter as the market demands it.

Moral of the story is bmw left plenty in the tank for a comp and the flagship cs.

The interior complaints will be addressed in March.

Naming any iteration of this product CS will be laughable to anyone that knows what that badge had been and stood for. I’d rather would like them to name it “red label” or something as dumb and meaningless.

They were looking for an F90 for the longest time. I offered them my 21 Comp for the drag race but they wanted a completely bone stock non comp car. Mine has Catless/jb4 (which can be turned off but catless still gives some gains I guess). Likely would’ve beaten the G90

Is there a specific reason it was released without this in the first place?

The only thing that feels cheap in the interior is the window buttons/panel on the door other then that i think the interior is good overall
After have sat in one today Yes would have preferred a full leather option but would it make a huge difference?! Not really
For the price i think they did good overall but people inly see the negative side

I think when they introduce the passenger screen the whole dash will essentially be obscured and leather there will not be an issue.

Where's the info about leather dash and stitching? What I read just individual colors for seats

I am assuming ..I'm never seen individual color being offered without the other stuff. Every M in recent memory has always been offered with it. Production the first year is always a toss up as options shifted around the first few years.

Even the g80 series had a similar issue and pause when it first launched

I agree 100%. I’m 54 years old have no interest in drag racing this car or any other. I want a discreet rocketship that can carry my family. I’ll take the wagon in Malachite Green with a tan interior. 😊

They never complained about the F90's capability and handling but about how it feels and how inert it is unless you really start exploring the realms of speed.

Their takeway is that an E63 S is far more engaging because of its dynamic and childish antics in noise and engine.

And I wholeheartedly having owned both, concur. They had similar criticism about 992 911s which I absolutely agree as well.

This was a great review... and from what i've gathered it seems to be a solid car albeit one that lost a bit of the old magic... and again... all of that as everyone has said can be blamed on the weight.

The magic will come in time with updates... bmw never launches the best product off the start. Got to leave room for improvement. The question will be, how soon will there be a comp or a CS.

Last M5 took a year for the comp to drop

With this engine being de-tuned, a stage 1 on OCT91-RON95 map will easily increase power to 850 HP.

These two are nothing more than clowns misrepresenting themselves as reviewers. Some may find them entertaining, but nobody should take anything they say seriously.
